In the month of Sivan we celebrate Shavuot and the receiving of the Torah. The Torah tells us that we are all ‘sons’ of God (Deuteronomy 14:1). For that reason, we have an opening to bless our children for success in all aspects of life.
It is especially powerful when said on the day before Rosh Chodesh Sivan (Gemini).

This year, Rosh Chodesh is on Sunday and the day before is Shabbat that we usually don’t express selfish desires. Because of that, some read the blessing on Friday and some read on Shabbat.
