Zohar Yitro
Exodus 18:1
“וַיִּשְׁמַע יִתְרוֹ כֹהֵן מִדְיָן, חֹתֵן מֹשֶׁה, אֵת כָּל-אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה אֱלֹהִים לְמֹשֶׁה, וּלְיִשְׂרָאֵל עַמּוֹ: כִּי-הוֹצִיא יְהוָה אֶת-יִשְׂרָאֵל, מִמִּצְרָיִם”
“Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses’ father-in-law, heard of all that God (אֱלֹהִים ,Elohim) had done for Moses and for Israel his people, how YHVH had brought Israel out of Egypt.”
Exodus 2:24
“וַיִּשְׁמַע אֱלֹהִים, אֶת-נַאֲקָתָם”
“And God (אֱלֹהִים , Elohim) heard the voice of their suffering”
God (אֱלֹהִים , Elohim) is the name of God that represents the control over Malchut. It gave protection to Moses and the Israelites and stayed with them during the exile. YHVH is the supernal name that comes from Binah and the force that brought the Redemption, taking the Israelites out of Egypt.
Psalms 111:9
“פְּדוּת, שָׁלַח לְעַמּוֹ– צִוָּה-לְעוֹלָם בְּרִיתוֹ;
קָדוֹשׁ וְנוֹרָא שְׁמוֹ”
“He sent redemption to his people; he has commanded his covenant forever. Holy and awesome is his name!”
The Redemption is for the Israelites and the covenant stands forever. The Zohar reveals that Jethro converted and joined the covenant between God and his people. God accepted Jethro because he broke the hold of the other side over him and sanctified God’s name.
There are many ‘Jethros’ in the world that now have the opportunity to join the covenant God made with the fathers of all Israelites and merit the Final Redemption.
There are also many more Israelites souls that because of their correction process had to be born far from the root of their souls. The light of the Zohar calls them home as a lighthouse gives direction to vessels sailing over ‘troubled’ waters. Those who rely on their own individual ‘life savers’ (money, property) can not have guaranteed safety because there are many ‘predators’ (negative side) that can take away everything they may have in an instant (losing faith).
The best protection is to be on a big vessel with great protection. The Zohar is our Noah’s Ark and can save us from the flood of negativity that spreads in the world nowadays.
Those who accept the ways of the Torah and the study of the Zohar join the covenant like Jethro did. They receive a spiritual level that is higher than one who was born as a Jew. The Zohar teaches us that conversion breaks the negative side and the world benefits from weakening it.
The sages teach us that a person who is asked to do good and follow the request has greater merit than the one who did the same without being asked. The reason as we just learned is that those who are naturally good, don’t have a fight with negativity when they go for the action. Those who are asked to do good, have to fight the evil inclination that raises the will to refuse the request. That brings a greater revelation of light.
According to the Holy Ari, everyone has the soul level of Nefesh but converts receive the soul level of Ruach, which is much higher.
