#124
Leviticus 19:23,24
“‘When you come into the land and have planted all kinds of trees for food, then you shall count their fruit as uncircumcised. Three years it shall be as uncircumcised to you. It shall not be eaten.”
“And in the fourth year, all its fruit shall be holy, an offering of praise to YHVH.”
Rabbi Chiyya opened and said, the friends have already explained this. But come and see: the tree, which symbolizes Zeir Anpin, does not bear fruit except in the land, which is Malchut. The land brings forth the fruits and reveals them to the world. The land itself does not produce fruits except by the power that is appointed upon it, that is, from Zeir Anpin, just as any female does not produce fruits except by the power of the male.

#125
The fruit that Malchut, referred to as the land, produces is not fully complete until three years have passed. This period symbolizes the time it takes for Malchut to receive the three lines (right, left, and middle) from Zeir Anpin. The power that was appointed upon the land is not fully established until this process is complete. Only after these three years, when Malchut received and integrated all three lines, did it become perfected and aligned with Zeir Anpin.

#126
Come and see, the female, which is the Malchut, before she has conceived three times, the fruit of her womb, which is the soul, is not complete. For she needs to have three lines, and there are three lines in each line. For three pregnancies (עיבורים, Ibur) correspond to three lines, and in each pregnancy, there are three lines. After three pregnancies, the female is corrected (ready in proper form) by that fruit, and they are together. Zeir Anpin is right, and the Malchut is left, and they do not join together except by the power of the middle line, which includes three lines, and in each line, there are three lines. Then, that fruit, meaning the soul, is the perfection and beauty of all. And after the fruit comes forth and grows from her, before three years, it has no power from above, for the fruit itself also needs to illuminate the three lines like Malchut, which are the three years, for then its growth is complete. And therefore, before that, they are three years of “ערלה” “Orlah.” And Levi, (son of Jacob and Leah), who went through three pregnancies, was chosen from all the tribes, for he is the third to his mother. She was corrected by him and was sweetened with him.

Lesson;
The three years symbolize the period during which the Malchut (land) needed to receive and fully integrate the three lines from Zeir Anpin.
Before Malchut receives all three lines, it is not fully rectified or complete. It is in a state of partial or incomplete development. Once Malcut receives the full influence/nourishment from Zeir Anpin through the three lines, it becomes complete and perfected, with spiritual maturity and readiness to bear holy fruits. To receive the power of growth from above, Malchut must reach a state of completion by fully aligning with Zeir Anpin.
Orlah: The state of the first in the first three years during which the fruit is not considered complete and is not consumed. This period symbolizes the time required for the fruit (soul) to fully receive and integrate the divine influence from all three lines.
Fourth Year: The fruit is in its completion and readiness, considered holy and is dedicated to YHVH.
The child’s first three years are critical, and the focus is on nourishment in all aspects.
From this Zohar teaching, we can understand the significance of a newborn child’s first three years as a crucial period in developing the spiritual vessel. Just as Malchut is only fully complete once it receives and integrates with the three lines of Zeir Anpin, a newborn child similarly undergoes a process of spiritual maturation during the first three years of life. These initial years can be seen as a time when the child receives Light that helps to establish their spiritual and physical well-being. The growth and development of a child are profoundly shaped during this period, laying the groundwork for their future potential. The three years of nurturing and care mirror the three lines that complete the Shechina force in Malchut, symbolizing the integration of loving kindness (Chessed, Right), discipline (Gevura, Left), and harmony (Tiferet, Middle) in the child’s early environment. This sacred time sets the stage for the child’s later stages of development, where they begin to learn and manifest the fullness of their unique soul and purpose, just as the fruit of the tree becomes ready to nourish and sustain the world.
