Today is my birthday, the 24th of Av. On this special day, I offer my deepest thanks to Hashem for entrusting me with this meaningful work, and for granting me the wisdom and strength to continue. It brings me so much joy to study and share my learning with all of you around the world. On my birthday, I pray that Hashem channels abundant blessings to each of you who study the Daily Zohar—blessings of strong health, wisdom, and the merits to witness the great Light revealed in our world.

Together, we must continue to study and reveal as much Light as possible, to create the vessel needed to draw down the Light that can dispel the darkness spreading across the world. I ask Hashem to guide us on the righteous path, and to help us earn merits through our studies, sharing, and acts of Tzedakah.

Please, share the links to the Daily Zohar (and any other pure sources of study) with your friends, so we can grow the global vessel for the Light.

With love to all, Zion

The question is asked: “What are the springs of the stream?” The answer is given: There is one primary spring above, which is Binah, as it is written, “וְנָהָר יֹצֵא מֵעֵדֶן לְהַשְׁקוֹת אֶת הַגָּן” “A river went out of Eden to water the garden,” etc. From there, it flows forth and waters the garden, which is Malchut. All these streams, which are the Sefirot of Zeir Anpin that receive from the river (Binah), flow and emerge, gathering in two springs called Netzach and Hod of Zeir Anpin, and these are called “אֲפִיקֵי מַיִם” “streams of water.” They influence the level called Tzaddik, which is Yessod of Zeir Anpin, and from there, it flows and waters the garden, which is Malchut. Therefore, the deer and gazelle are found together, symbolizing Tzedek (righteousness, Malchut) and Tzaddik (the righteous, Yessod), which are together. For the deer (צֶדֶק, אַיָּל) represents Malchut, and the gazelle (צַדִּיק, צְבִי) represents Yessod.

We have learned it is written,
Psalm 29:9
“קוֹל יְהוָה יְחוֹלֵל אַיָּלוֹת וַיֶּחֱשֹׂף יְעָרוֹת וּבְהֵיכָלוֹ כֻּלּוֹ אֹמֵר כָּבוֹד.”
“The voice of YHVH makes the deer give birth, And uncover the forests bare; And in His temple, everyone says, “Glory!”
“קוֹל ה’ יְחוֹלֵל אַיָּלוֹת” “The voice of YHVH causes the deer to give birth.” It is read as “אַיָּלוֹת” “deer” but also written as “אַיֶּלֶת” “deer” without the letter “vav.” This refers to the “אַיֶּלֶת הַשַּׁחַר” “Ailat HaShachar” (the morning star), which symbolizes Malchut. Another interpretation of “אַיְלוֹת הַשָּׂדֶה” “deer of the field” refers to what we have learned: at midnight, when the Holy One enters the Garden of Eden to rejoice with the Tzadikim, this voice, which is Zeir Anpin, goes forth and causes pain to all those deer that surround the Holy Throne, which is Malchut. This is as it is written, “שִׁשִּׁים גִּבֹּרִים סָבִיב לָהּ” “Sixty mighty men surround her. (Songs 3:7)” Another interpretation of “יְחוֹלֵל אַיָּלוֹת” “causes the deer to give birth” is like the phrase,
Job 26:13
“בְּרוּחוֹ שָׁמַיִם שִׁפְרָה חֹלֲלָה יָדוֹ נָחָשׁ בָּרִיחַ.”
“His hand has brought forth the twisting serpent,”
where “brought forth” means to create and strengthen. So, too, “יְחוֹלֵל אַיָּלוֹת” “causes the deer to give birth” means to strengthen the deer, which are the sixty mighty men. And “וַיֶּחֱשֹׂף יְעָרוֹת” “uncovers the forests” is like the phrase “בְּיַעְרַת הַדְּבָשׁ” “from the honeycomb (same root of ‘forest’) of honey, (1 Samuel 14:27)” as it is written, “I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey.” This refers to Zeir Anpin, which is the “Voice of YHVH,” which sustains and nurtures those sixty mighty men, called “אַיָּלוֹת” deer, like a mother nursing her children. Therefore, it is written, “The voice of YHVH causes the deer to give birth,” meaning that He nourishes and sustains them.

Notes:
In this section, the Zohar discusses the deeper meaning behind the verse “The voice of YHVH causes the deer to give birth.” The deer is symbolic of Malchut, and it also represents the sixty mighty men who guard and surround her. The text explains that Zeir Anpin (the voice of YHVH) plays a crucial role in sustaining and nurturing Malchut and these spiritual forces (the sixty mighty men). Using the term “causes the deer to give birth” signifies the strengthening and empowerment that comes from Zeir Anpin to Malchut and her protectors. This nurturing relationship is further emphasized by the comparison to a mother nursing her children, highlighting the continuous flow of Light of sustenance from Zeir Anpin to Malchut.
