Zohar Vayikra

#378
Then the Holy One, blessed be He, answered them, to Israel: Behold, My guarding is present, for I am destined to receive her and to be found with her. This is what is written: “אָמַר שׁוֹמֵר אָתָא בֹקֶר וְגַם לָיְלָה” “The watchman said: The morning comes, and also the night” (Isaiah 21:12). For at first the Holy One, blessed be He, ascended higher and higher and raised with Him that morning, which is Yessod, who is always found with Him. And now, “the morning comes” — that he is ready to unite with the night, which is Malchut, “and also the night” — she is ready for union with Yessod. But for your sakes, they are delayed. And if you desire this, why do you delay? Return, return in teshuvah, then “come” — you will come to Me, all of us in one dwelling, and all of us will return to our places. This is what is written: “וְשָׁב יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ אֶת שְׁבוּתְךָ” “And YHVH your God will return your captivity” (Deuteronomy 30:3). And it is not written “and He will cause to return,” but “and He will return,” for “and He will return” is said here twice: one for Knesset Yisrael that she return to the Holy One, blessed be He, and one for the Holy One, blessed be He, that He return to Knesset Yisrael. This is what is written: “וְשָׁב יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ אֶת שְׁבוּתְךָ וְשָׁב וְקִבֶּצְךָ מִכָּל הָעַמִּים” “And YHVH your God will return your captivity and will return and gather you from all the peoples” (Deuteronomy 30:3).
Notes:
In response to the cry from exile, Hashem assures Israel that His guarding is intact and that the union with Malchut (the “night”) and Yessod (the “morning”) is ready. The delay is for the sake of Israel’s teshuvah. When they return, the divine couple will reunite in one dwelling.
The double “and He will return” in Deuteronomy 30:3 signifies mutual return: Israel returns to God, and God returns to Israel. This mutual teshuvah and gathering from the nations completes the redemption. The teaching offers profound hope — the final redemption depends on Israel’s return, which in turn brings about the full reunion of the divine masculine and feminine.
