Zohar Beresheet

#441
Rabbi Yossi said, ” The serpent opened with ‘אף’ (“af” also/anger), for it said, ‘אַף כִּי אָמַר אֱלֹהִים’ (‘Indeed, has God said…’) (Genesis 3:1), and with this word the serpent brought anger and wrath into the world. ” It said to the woman: With this tree the Holy One, blessed be He, created the world, for the world was created through the Nukva. And therefore certainly eat from it “וִהְיִיתֶם כֵּאלֹהִים” “and you shall be as God…” (Genesis 3:5), and you too will be able to create worlds through the Nukva. For He, that is Zeir Anpin, is thus God. His Name, that is the Nukva, is the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil. And therefore if you eat from the Tree of Knowledge which is His Name — that is, if you cling to the Nukva and to her flow — “you shall be as God,” that is like Zeir Anpin, and you will be able to create worlds like Him.
Notes:
The serpent began with the word “af,” which also means anger, thereby introducing wrath into the world. It tempted Eve by claiming that the world was created through the Nukva (the Tree of Knowledge) and that, by drawing from her, they could become like Zeir Anpin and create worlds.

#442
Rabbi Yehuda said, The serpent did not say this. For if it had said, “With this tree the Holy One, blessed be He, created the world,” it would have been good, because the tree is like an axe in the hand of the one who chops with it. The meaning is that the Tree of Knowledge is the Nukva of Zeir Anpin, and if it had said that Zeir Anpin created the world through the Nukva, it would have spoken truth, for He uses the Nukva like an axe in the hand of the one who chops with it. For the Nukva has nothing of her own except what Zeir Anpin gives her, and it is found that the Actor is Zeir Anpin. This is certainly true. But the serpent did not say this. Rather, it said that from this tree the Holy One, blessed be He, ate — that is, that Zeir Anpin received flow from the Nukva, and then Zeir Anpin created the world. And every craftsman hates his fellow. Eat from the Tree of Knowledge, and you too will be able to create worlds. And this is a complete lie, for the Nukva receives everything from Zeir Anpin. And therefore it said, “כִּי יֹדֵעַ אֱלֹהִים” “For God knows…” (Genesis 3:5), whose meaning is: because He knows this, that you will be as God and create worlds like Him, therefore He commanded you not to eat from it.
Notes:
Rabbi Yehuda clarifies the serpent’s deception. The true relationship is that Zeir Anpin acts through the Nukva as a craftsman uses an axe. The serpent reversed this, claiming that Zeir Anpin received from the Nukva, which is a complete falsehood.
