Important notes about the study of Zohar Yitro
The Zohar, in the portion of Yitro, reveals deep insights into facial features, markings, and expressions — not as a tool for ordinary human judgment, but as a sacred window into the hidden language of creation that only the truly righteous, at very high spiritual levels, can perceive. These teachings are given for us to marvel at the wisdom of Hashem and to feel deep awe at the way every detail of a person carries divine meaning.
We must be extremely careful: this is not permission to scan people’s faces, analyze them, or judge them. Doing so would be a serious misuse of holy wisdom and could cause great spiritual harm. When you study these passages, pause first and give thanks to Hashem for allowing us to connect to this light. Ask sincerely: “Ribbono shel Olam, help me never to judge any person wrongly. Let me see only the good, and may I never use Your Torah to harm or diminish another soul.”
Our generation lives in a time when spiritual confusion and darkness are widespread — leaders and many people cast heavy shadows over truth. The Zohar calls this world עלמא דשקרא — the World of Lies — precisely to remind us how easily we can become trapped in illusion.
Yet the Endless Light, blessed be He, used the Hebrew letters as the divine “DNA” code to create the four worlds (Atzilut, Beriah, Yetzirah, Asiyah). Everything in creation — the four elements (Fire, Air, Water, Earth), the four letters of YHVH, and even the four bases of physical DNA (A, T, C, G) — all reflect the same supreme unity of the King of all Kings, the Holy One, blessed be He.
We study the Zohar and the words of the Tzaddikim not to judge others, but to absorb their holy light, refine our own character, improve our relationships, and distance ourselves from negativity — without judging people. May we merit to walk humbly, to see the good in every soul, and to draw ever closer to the truth of Hashem.
With love and blessings for all who learn together,
