There are three types of Shofar blowing;
ק – Tekiah, תקיעה that is one continuous blast.
ש – Shevarim, שברים that is three short blasts.
ר – Teruah, תרועה that is nine short blasts without a gap between them.

The letters that represent each type of blowing form the word קשר that means ‘a connection’, which is exactly the purpose and the outcome of the use of the Shofar. With it we connect to Binah and break the hold of Satan upon us on the judgment day of Rosh Hashanah. On the spiritual level, Rosh Hashanah is considered as one day of 48 hours with two court sessions of harsh and soft judgment

With the special process of Shofar blowing, the letter ן from the word Satan,שטן , gets shorter and becomes ו as in ושט, Esophagus (see DZ 1198).

We have ten sets of Shofar blowing on Rosh Hashanah to break Satan on all levels. Moses reveals these secrets to Rabbi Shimon and to us, quoting the verse from Numbers 30:14
“כָּל-נֵדֶר וְכָל-שְׁבֻעַת אִסָּר, לְעַנֹּת נָפֶשׁ–אִישָׁהּ יְקִימֶנּוּ, וְאִישָׁהּ יְפֵרֶנּוּ”
“Every vow, and every binding oath to afflict the soul, her husband may let it stand, or her husband may make it void”

“Every vow, and every binding oath to afflict the soul, her (H of the name that represent Binah) husband (Y of the name, numerically 10) may let it stand (because it is on the level of Binah), or her (Lower H of the name, Malchut) husband may make it void (to cancel the judgments of the lower levels.)”

The Y and V are male aspects of the name and they cannel Light to the two HH that are the female aspects of the name.
The Light that comes from the Y (Chokmah) adds and empowers Binah when it is awakened by the Shofar. The V is the aspect of Zeir Anpin and the voice of the Shofar that comes out from inside of us and ascends up with the three types of Shofar blowing to make a connection that brings light to our vessels and ‘blinds’ the negativity away so they can’t see our impurities that the Klipah tries to present in the supernal court.

Proverb 10:12
“ שִׂנְאָה, תְּעֹרֵר מְדָנִים; וְעַל כָּל-פְּשָׁעִים, תְּכַסֶּה אַהֲבָה.”
“Hatred stirreth up strife; but love covereth all transgressions.”

Love is the aspect of sharing Light and when we channel it through us we cover and wipe out our ‘crimes’. That’s how it works on Rosh Hashanah and it can work for us with every action of the day.

So don’t wait for Rosh Hashanah to fight Satan with the Shofar. Clean your act today and everyday with the love to share with everyone in your life. If you can’t love them, avoid them because as the verse tells us, hate will only get you in trouble.
