Hebrew translation:

580. וּמִשּׁוּם זֶה נֶאֱמַר וַיֵּאָבֵק אִישׁ עִמּוֹ עַד עֲלוֹת הַשָּׁחַר. מַהוּ הַשַּׁחַר? תְּפִלַּת עַרְבִית, שֶׁשִּׁעוּרָהּ עַד בֹּקֶר שֶׁל אַבְרָהָם, שֶׁהוּא אַרְבַּע שָׁעוֹת. (בראשית כב) וַיַּשְׁכֵּם אַבְרָהָם בַּבֹּקֶר. בִּתְחִלַּת שָׁעָה רִאשׁוֹנָה בְּסוֹף הַשַּׁחַר, (שֶׁהוּא) נֵצַח יַעֲקֹב, שֶׁשָּׁם (תהלים כב) לַמְנַצֵּחַ עַל אַיֶּלֶת הַשַּׁחַר, לָקַחַת נְקָמָה מִסָּמָאֵל, שֶׁנָּגַע בְּיֶרֶךְ שְׂמֹאל שֶׁל יַעֲקֹב, שֶׁהוּא הוֹד, שֶׁבּוֹ נֶאֱמַר (איכה א) נְתָנַנִי שֹׁמֵמָה כָּל הַיּוֹם דָּוָה, הוֹד, מִצַּד הַהוֹד, אֶלֶף חֲמִשִּׁי, נִשְׁאָר בֵּית הַמִּקְדָּשׁ חָרֵב וְיָבֵשׁ.
581. אָמַר רַבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן, זֶה הוֹד שֶׁלְּךָ, רוֹעֶה נֶאֱמָן, שֶׁבּוֹ אַתָּה חָרֵב מִנְּבוּאָתְךָ מִשְּׂמֹאל, וּמִשּׁוּם שֶׁאַתָּה (ישעיה סג) מוֹלִיךְ לִימִין מֹשֶׁה, שֶׁהוּא נֵצַח, רֹאשׁ שֶׁל הַשַּׁחַר, וְנֶאֱמַר (משלי ה) אַיֶּלֶת אֲהָבִים, לָכֵן פָּתַח דָּוִד וְאָמַר לַמְנַצֵּחַ עַל אַיֶּלֶת הַשַּׁחַר, שֶׁבּוֹ יָבֹא בַּעַל נוֹצֵחַ הַקְּרָב. וּמִשּׁוּם שֶׁנֵּצַח וְהוֹד הֵם שְׁנֵי מִינֵי שַׁחַר, בֵּאֲרוּ בַּמִּשְׁנָה מֵאֵימָתַי קוֹרִין אֶת שְׁמַע בְּשַׁחֲרִין, וְלֹא אָמַר בַּשַּׁחַר, אֶלָּא בְּשַׁחֲרִין – לְשׁוֹן רַבִּים, שְׁנַיִם.

Genesis 32:25
” וַיִּוָּתֵר יַעֲקֹב, לְבַדּוֹ; וַיֵּאָבֵק אִישׁ עִמּוֹ, עַד עֲלוֹת הַשָּׁחַר”
” Then Jacob was left alone, and a man struggle with him until daybreak.”

Jacob’s struggle with the angel of the other side continued through the night until day break. From this, we learn that the negative side gives up when the Light appears. Then it is the time of the morning prayer as it said in Genesis 22:3 ” וַיַּשְׁכֵּם אַבְרָהָם בַּבֹּקֶר”, ” And Abraham rose early in the morning”.

The morning is also the aspect of the revelation of the Light of Mashiach and the process of the Final Redemption. The world is still under the control of the negative side. It has influence on every step we make. It holds our heel and doesn’t let us progress or reach the light we are seeking.

When the light of Mashiach appears, the negative side will give up and release its hold on us. It will permanently disappear from the world. Then we will enjoy the spread of Chassadim that the ‘morning’ brings with it.
