Daily Zohar # 1732 – Beshalach – They drain your energy
.

The Zohar tells a story of Rabbi Yitzahak and Rabbi Yehuda that were walking on the way and along with them was a merchant with a camel caravan. Suddenly the merchant saw a woman in the field by their way, he went to her and raped her. The two rabbis immediately turned to a different way telling themselves that God gave them the sign not to be on the same way with that person.
The learned that the merchant was a son to a woman worshiping other gods (from the other side). They thanked God for saving them from negativity.
Psalms 37:1
“Do not fret because of evildoers, Be not envious toward wrongdoers.”
Rabbi Yitzhak quotes the above verse explaining that we should not get close to people who are negative in nature or doing negative actions. Being around such people affects our own protection shields. They can easily drain out our energy and bring judgments on us.
The Zohar brings this story and lesson to tell us that if the Erev Rav did not join the Israelites, they wouldn’t have made the Golden Calf, bring death and exile for a long time.
I recommend reading Psalms 1 as well as this study from time to time to gain the energy to avoid negative people and negative environment.
