Daily Zohar # 1876 – Masei – Paths of power
Previously published as DZ 1572 and updated for this study
The above Zohar section is from Tikunei Zohar #4 and together with the next DZ it reveals secrets of the 42 letters.
.
Kabbalists bring another aspect to the 42 letters. God created the world with three hands. Hand in Hebrew is ‘יד’, numerically 14, 3×14 equals 42. The world was Created with the governance of seven days. It brings the aspect of 21 that is the numerical value of the name of Keter אהיה. The word God appears 32 times during the process of Creation. They are the seeds for the 32 paths of wisdom that is the Light that is channeled through Binah to the world. The Light that is manifested in Malchut goes through the 10 Sefirot. The 10 Sefirot and the 32 paths reveal the force of the 42 letters.
The Torah scroll has 32 special letters. 16 of them appear from the beginning to the large Vav in the middle of the Torah (Leviticus 11:42! Portion of Shemini), and 16 more in the other half. Together 32 plus the 10 Sefirot we have 42. Each column in the Torah scroll is written on 42 lines.
The name of 42 is the aspect of the written Torah, which is channeling the energy. The 72 names is the aspect of the oral Torah and revelation in Malchut. The 72 names serve as bridges of the Light from the upper level to Malchut. I recommend starting an individual meditation (after purification of body and consciousness) with Zohar reading, Ana B’Koach then additional prayers and meditation and closing with scanning (not reading) of the entire 72 names chart.
