Zohar Beresheet
Continued from previous DZ
Genesis 1:1
“בְּרֵאשִׁית בָּרָא אֱלֹהִי”ם אֵת הַשָּׁמַיִם וְאֵת הָאָרֶץ’
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
The Zohar explains that ‘the heaven and the earth’ is the foundation of male and female. The first verse of the Torah is the secret of the concealed of all concealed that the Creator concealed in it.
From the first point the Light spread to six sides (six sefirot of Zeir Anpin, South-Chessed, North-Gevurah, East-Tiferet, Up-Netzach, Down-Hod and West-Yessod.). The six were the building block of the seven days and the secret of the holy name of 42 letters that we know as the ‘Ana B’Koach’.
The word for ‘point’ in Hebrew is נקודה, ‘dot’. The word for the vowels of the Hebrew letters is ‘ניקוד’,’Nikud’, ‘dotting’ has the same root of נקד. Another word for the Hebrew vowels is ‘תנועות’ that means ‘movement’. The Zohar explains that the dots give the letters vibrations and ‘movements’.
The ten sefirot divided to three levels of ‘Teamim’ (Cantillation, upper three sefirot), ‘Nekudot’ (dots, Zeir Anpin) and ‘Otiyot’ (letters, Malchut). There’s also the ‘Tagim’ that is specific to the Torah scroll. The typeface that we use for the Zohar text above shows ‘tagim’, which can be found on the top of the letters as small lines with dots on top.
The Torah scroll is written with letters without Nikud/Movements because the Torah letters are vessels with great potential. We activate it with the reading, adding the Nikud and cantilations to create vibrations and movement of the Light from the Torah into our lives.

In the studies of Beresheet we learned about the seed point of Creation that is called ‘Zohar’. The Light expanded from that point to form the Sefirot and the ‘sides’ that define the existence of space for the corporeal world of Malchut.
The process of creating the sefirot brought the aspect of time inside the space. The first word of the Torah “In the Beginning” reveals the aspect of time because if there is beginning then there is also end.
While we can move to all sides, we can not move back in the aspect of time because it has one direction. If we were able to go back in time then we would be able to go to the original point of Creation. That is why time travel in the material world is not possible. We can only go back in time in our mind, taking the soul to past events and experiences and ‘re-program’ them.
I do recommend to people to meditate on past events and correct them in the mind. You may go back to an event where you hurt someone and ‘redraw’ the event, accept the pain of the negative action and from your heart change the events to bring positive outcome. If you do it right, your soul could heal much easier. Such actions may draw forgiveness and help cleanse the soul from past negativities.
We meditate on past events to make correction, not to create empty vessels of desires.
