The Shechina doesn’t stay in a place of sadness, only in joy. The Light is positive and it requires a positive vessel. Sadness and all kind of negative feeling contaminate the vessel and the Shechina can’t be there to attract the upper Light to come to the vessel.
The vessel is any kind of desire. When the desire is for the Light and for doing something positive then the Shechina comes to the vessel and the Light of fulfillment comes down to it.

When the desire is negative or there is lack of any desire the vessel is dark and draws judgments.

The righteous accept their pain in a positive way, knowing that everything happen to them is part of the process of building, cleansing and strengthening their soul. Those who ‘complaint’ about the suffering lose whatever Light they have and delay their spiritual progress.

The Zohar teaches us that we break the Shabbat connection to Binah when we are angry on Shabbat. A person may keep all the laws of Shabbat but if he gets angry then he disconnect from the Light.
