Daily Zohar # 2035 – Yitro – Three types of faith
Continued from previous DZ
When Job saw the power of YHVH in Egypt he converted immediately. Jethro didn’t convert until he saw the Israelites leaving Egypt and the Egyptians drowning in the sea. Balaam had deep connection with the impure system of the other side and didn’t even consider conversion to faith in YHVH.
Job was connected to the spiritual system with heart and mind and was affected immediately. Jethro was wise astrologer and he waited to see everything unfold before he transformed himself to complete faith in YHVH.
“וַיִּשָּׂא מְשָׁלוֹ, וַיֹּאמַר: נְאֻם בִּלְעָם בְּנוֹ בְעֹר, וּנְאֻם הַגֶּבֶר שְׁתֻם הָעָיִן”
“He took up his parable, and said, “Balaam the son of Beor says, the man whose eye was closed says;”
The Torah says that one eye of Balaam wasn’t open to view this world. The Zohar explains that he used the small light that feeds the other side to see into the future. His vision was corrupted and even if he saw some truth, it was mostly covered by false and impure images like in most dreams.
What type is your faith?
1. I feel the Light in my heart and mind (Job)
2. I need to learn and see the outcome to believe (Jethro)
3. I believe I can see some light and I want to use it for my personal gains (Balaam)
If you are between 1 and 2 then you have a good faith.
If you are 1 then you achieve complete faith and see the Light in everything.
If you are number 3 then ask yourself “why am I reading this?”
