Daily Zohar # 2056 – Ki Tisa – Like a lily among thorns
.

Zohar Ki Tisa
Song of Songs 2:2
“Like a lily among the thorns, So is my darling among the maidens.”
The Zohar reveals that God treats the Israelites as the supernal ‘Lily’, which is Malchut. The Lily has six leaves surrounding the center, like the six sefirot that feed Malchut. Because of its high connection, this Lily has a scent like no other flower in the world.
The Lily, Israel, went among the thorns that is the aspect of other nations. They went down to Egypt as 70 souls that God ‘planted’ among the thorns. The Egyptians were the aspect of thorns and with the energy and blessings of the Israelites the Egyptians grew and controlled the world. The Lily could then grow and flourish among them.
The Holy One Blessed be He came to take his ‘Lily’ out of the ‘thorns’. When the Lily was taken out of the thorns they dried out, wasted and considered to nothing. God brought the Israelites to the Holy Land and treated them as his firstborn in his palace.
While on the path of spiritual growth, we are ‘planted’ among thorns. It’s not an easy process but if we keep our desire for the Light together with spiritual connections then we are treated like the sons of God and when the time comes our pain is heard and we will be moved to our ‘Promised Land’.
