The Zohar reveals three ‘witnesses’ to the word of God.
1 – The Torah
“לָקֹחַ, אֵת סֵפֶר הַתּוֹרָה הַזֶּה, וְשַׂמְתֶּם אֹתוֹ, מִצַּד אֲרוֹן בְּרִית-יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם; וְהָיָה-שָׁם בְּךָ, לְעֵד”
“Take this book of the law (Torah) and place it beside the ark of the covenant of YHVH your God, that it may remain there as a witness against you.”
2- The well of Isaac
“בַּעֲבוּר תִּהְיֶה-לִּי לְעֵדָה, כִּי חָפַרְתִּי אֶת-הַבְּאֵר הַזֹּאת.”
“that this may be a witness for me that I dug this well”
3 – The stone of Joshua
“וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוֹשֻׁעַ אֶל-כָּל-הָעָם, הִנֵּה הָאֶבֶן הַזֹּאת תִּהְיֶה-בָּנוּ לְעֵדָה–כִּי-הִיא שָׁמְעָה אֵת כָּל-אִמְרֵי יְהוָה, אֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר עִמָּנוּ; וְהָיְתָה בָכֶם לְעֵדָה, פֶּן-תְּכַחֲשׁוּן בֵּאלֹהֵיכֶם”
“Joshua said to all the people, “Behold, this stone shall be for a witness against us, for it has heard all the words of YHVH which He spoke to us; thus it shall be for a witness against you, so that you do not deny your God.”
While the well of Isaac and the stone of Joshua are witnesses to an event and place, the Torah is the only witness that testifies to and reveals the word of God. In this verse we find the words “כִּי לֹא תִשָּׁכַח מִפִּי זַרְעוֹ” that conceal the name seed of Yochai, who is Rabbi Shimon and the Zohar. These five words are painted on the top of the entrance to Rabbi Shimon site on Mount Meron. (picture below)
“וְהָיָה כִּי-תִמְצֶאןָ אֹתוֹ רָעוֹת רַבּוֹת, וְצָרוֹת, וְעָנְתָה הַשִּׁירָה הַזֹּאת לְפָנָיו לְעֵד, כִּי לֹא תִשָּׁכַח מִפִּי זַרְעוֹ: כִּי יָדַעְתִּי אֶת-יִצְרוֹ, אֲשֶׁר הוּא עֹשֶׂה הַיּוֹם, בְּטֶרֶם אֲבִיאֶנּוּ, אֶל-הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁבַּעְתִּי”
“Then it shall come about, when many evils and troubles have come upon them, that this song will testify before them as a witness (for it shall not be forgotten from the lips of their descendants); for I know their intent which they are developing today, before I have brought them into the land which I swore.”
The Zohar is a testimony from the Torah that it will protect us from all evils and troubles.
