Daily Zohar # 3433 – Ha’azinu – Incline your ear and hear
Hebrew translation:
.
Zohar Ha’Azinu
#157
The ear holes connect to the eye sockets, the mouth, and the nostrils in the nose. The voice that comes into the ears, if needed, it goes to the eyes and brings out tears. From that voice, if needed, it enters the nostrils and brings out fire and smoke, which is an aspect of anger. As we read in numbers 11:1 “and YHVH heard it, and His anger was aroused. So the fire of YHVH burned among them”. If need be, the voice enters the mouth, and speaks and derives speech from that voice.
Everything is from that voice that enters the ears, it enters the whole body, and everything is felt by it. A lot depends on the ears.
Blessed is he who keeps his words. As it is written,
Psalms 34:14
“Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking deceit.”
#158
The ear has the sense of hearing, which is Binah. The hearing includes the Lights of Chokmah, Binah, and Da’at because Chokmah can be revealed only through Binah.
1 Kings 3:9
“Therefore give to Your servant an understanding (Binah) heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge these great people of Yours?”
The ‘heart’, ‘לב’, numerically 32 has the aspect of the 32 paths of Wisdom, Chokmah.
1 Samuel 3:10
“Now YHVH came and stood and called as at other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel answered, “Speak, for Your servant hears.”
After Samuel heard Hashem, he connected to him and replied “Speak, for Your servant hears.”
Proverbs 4:10
“Hear, my son, and receive my sayings, And the years of your life will be many.”
‘My sayings’ is a reference to the precepts of the Torah. Everything is included in the ear because hearing is the aspect of the first revelation of the surrounding Light coming out of the head of Adam Kadmon.
The receiving of prayers, requests, and opening of the eyes, depending on the ear.
Daniel 9:18
“O my God, incline Your ear and hear; open Your eyes and see”
The ‘inclination’ of the ear for hearing represents elevation from Malchut, speech, to Binah, ear. It also causes the opening of the eyes because Chokmah (eyes) is connected to the ear.
Lesson;
Good ability to hear gives us an opening for understanding (Binah) and ‘eye-opening’ wisdom (Chokmah).
When we ‘incline’ our ears and allow others to speak, we give time to understand them, and bring out the proper reaction.
