Zohar Ha’azinu
#222
Rabbi Yitzchak was on his way, he met Rabbi Chiya, and saw the Shechina on his face. When Hashem revealed himself to Moses in the burning bush event, he tells Moses that he came to deliver the people from Egypt, using the past tense while there was no action made to take the people out of Egypt. We would expect the word ‘אֵרֵד’, which means “I will go down (to Egypt)” but the additional letter ‘ו’ at the beginning “וָאֵרֵד” changes the word from future to past tense.
Exodus 3:8
“And I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites.”
He explains that the Holy One Blessed be He came down to Egypt with Jacob because otherwise, they wouldn’t be able to suffer the exile in Egypt.
Psalms 91:15
“He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.”

#223
Psalms 91:11
“For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways.”

Rabbi Chiyah answered; wherever the Israelites are, the Holy One Blessed be He is with them as we read in Genesis 32:3,4
“So Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him.”
“When Jacob saw them, he said, “This is God’s camp.” And he called the name of that place Mahanaim.”
Rabbi Chiya suggested going together with Rabbi Yitzchak to a place where they can welcome the Shechina, which is rabbi Shimon. Rabbi Yitzchak said it is certainly so because messengers of Mitzvah are not hurt on their way to do it and on their way back from it. Now they go to be seen in front of the Holy One Blessed be He, and they have no fear.
