Daily Zohar – Tikunim – #361 – Dress yourself like a Cohen
Tikkun 21 – 102
Out of 613 precepts 248 were made to as a tool to correct the soul by doing a specific action.
We can consider the soul as a field of energy and a spiritual garment that contain and envelopes the whole body. We come to life with a ‘flawed’ garment and with each of the 248 precepts we build, correct or mend a different part of the soul.
Each person has a different set of precepts that he need to do for his own soul. No one can do all 248 precepts in one life times. Some precepts we may do once and it will be sufficient to correct that part of the soul and some of them we need to repeat throughout our life time. Not all people can make the mitzvah of Kohen or write a bill of divorce etc. Some people may have physical limitation like a blind or a mute person. But we all should follow and apply the 365 precepts of “You shall not …”. These precepts keep negativity away from hurting our soul.
The word for precept, מצוה, reveals the power behind it. The four letters are for the name YHVH. The last two letters וה are for Zeir Anpin and Malchut. They represent Malchut and Zeir Anpin, which is our world ה and the Torah ו. The Torah is the tool to make the connection to the upper level that is יה.
The action of the precept, מצוה transforms the letters מצ to יה in the secret of A-T B-Sh אתבש. When we follow a מצוה we create returning light and the Hebrew letters take a different direction, from last to first. The letter Tav ת becomes א Alef, ב Bet to ש Shin etc.
The revealed action of the מצוה, which is וה connects Malchut and Zeir Anpin and reveal the concealed מצ as יה that reveals the light of YHVH יהוה.
The letter מ and צ has the numerical value of 130 which is 10 times love אהבה. When we find value of ten times it means completeness and in this case the action of love is requires on all levels in order to connect to the Tree of Life.
The most important precept of the Torah is “ואהבת לרעך כמוך” “Love your fellow man as yourself”
When we apply this love unconditionally, we bring the light into our heart and affect the blood, which is the soul. Love is the mending power that heals the negative holes in our soul.
The word ואהבת “act with love” has numerical value of 414, which is twice light אור (207). This is for running and returning light that create continuation of the life force in this world.
Proverb 10:12 “ שִׂנְאָה, תְּעֹרֵר מְדָנִים; וְעַל כָּל-פְּשָׁעִים, תְּכַסֶּה אַהֲבָה”
“Hatred stirs up strifes but love covers all transgressions.”
When we ‘sin’, which is acting with selfish desires and disconnection from the light, we create ‘holes’ in our soul by letting the light that we achieve with positive action escapes and get swallowed by the dark side. Each ‘hole’ creates distance from the light and it becomes harder for us to connect to the light the next time.
Leviticus 21:18 “ כִּי כָל-אִישׁ אֲשֶׁר-בּוֹ מוּם, לֹא יִקְרָב”
“Every man that has blemish, shall not approach (the holy)”
This verse from Leviticus is in the section of the Torah that describes the rules that apply to the Cohen. He must have unblemished soul when coming to serve in the Holy of Holies.
When the Cohen goes into the Holy of Holies he connects and draws the light of Binah. This light removes negativity from the world. If the Cohen has ‘holes’ in his soul then there is a direct connection between the impure body and the light of Binah. The body cannot exists in this light so if the Cohen is not pure when going into the Holy of Holies, he dies.
We should be building our soul with the precepts and above all love everyone like ourselves. Making connection to the deep study of the Torah, which is the Zohar help us achieve more ‘loving’ state. That gives us the ability to channel the higher light of Binah to this world.
