Daily Zohar – Tikunim – #371 – Only from the depth of darkness we can see the true light
Tikkun 21 – 112
(Continuing previous Daily Zohar subject)
Jonah 2:1
“וַיְמַן יְהוָה דָּג גָּדוֹל, לִבְלֹעַ אֶת-יוֹנָה; וַיְהִי יוֹנָה בִּמְעֵי הַדָּג, שְׁלֹשָׁה יָמִים וּשְׁלֹשָׁה לֵילוֹת”
“And YHVH prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah; and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.”
Jonah accepted his responsibility to the storm on the sea. He submitted himself to the process in order to correct the situation. When people on the ship dropped him into the sea it immediately became calm.
God ‘assigned’ a big fish to swallow up Jonah.
To understand this, the Zohar reminds us of Jacob going down to Egypt.
Joseph is the aspect of the Sefira of Yessod and Jacob’s 12 sons represent paths in the Tree of Life. When Jacob learned that Joseph is alive it was time to start the Tikkun of Israel.
Jacob received the name Israel after he gave birth to the twelve sons and won over the angel of the negative side. In that process he hurt his ankle, which represents Malchut.
Now that Joseph is found and Jacob can connect his channel of the central column, Tiferet, to Joseph that is Yessod, the tikkun process of all Israelites could start.
God told Jacob in Genesis 46:3
“וַיֹּאמֶר, אָנֹכִי הָאֵל אֱלֹהֵי אָבִיךָ; אַל-תִּירָא מֵרְדָה מִצְרַיְמָה, כִּי-לְגוֹי גָּדוֹל אֲשִׂימְךָ שָׁם”
“And He said: ‘I am God, the God of your father; fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of you a great nation”
And in Genesis 46:4 we read
“אָנֹכִי, אֵרֵד עִמְּךָ מִצְרַיְמָה, וְאָנֹכִי, אַעַלְךָ גַם-עָלֹה; וְיוֹסֵף, יָשִׁית יָדוֹ עַל-עֵינֶיךָ”
“I will go down with you into Egypt; and I will also surely bring you up again; and Joseph shall put his hand upon your eyes.’”
God is telling Jacob that when he connects to Joseph the channel to Chokmah (eyes) will be established.
This process is needed for the future elevations. First elevation is from the darkness of Egypt to Malchut. The next elevation will be form Malchut to the light of Chokmah at the end of the process.
In the process of correction we must go down to the lowest levels in order to go up with pure connection to the light. We can not climb up with energy from the negative side. That is why the Israelites had to go through slavery and the break down of the ego to have a clean vessel to receive the future light.
Many of us experience the situation that when we decide to take the spiritual path it starts with falling down. We lose at every aspect of our lives that we need to correct. It could be money, health or relationship. Sometimes it could be all of the above.
When we accept our correction process, the system shakes the entire negative ‘attachments’ or all that we gain by connecting to the impure system. Then we start at ground zero to build up the broken part of our soul.
That is why the Israelites in Egypt got a new ‘king’. Exodus 1:8
“וַיָּקָם מֶלֶךְ-חָדָשׁ, עַל-מִצְרָיִם, אֲשֶׁר לֹא-יָדַע, אֶת-יוֹסֵף”
“And a new king arose over Egypt, who did not know Joseph”
The process began and we are still on it. The building of the Pyramids represent the future of the whole correction process. There are many secrets in the formation and measurements of the Pyramids and you can visit http://kabbalahsecrets.com/?page_id=1408
Now that Jonah is inside the belly of the fish with a fear of death he prays to YHVH because he knows that it is the only way to see the light.
King David helps us not to forget that YHVH is everything and everywhere as he wrote in Psalms 139:8
“ אִם אֶסַּק שָׁמַיִם, שָׁם אָתָּה; וְאַצִּיעָה שְּׁאוֹל הִנֶּךָּ”
“If I ascend up into heaven, you are there; if I am lying in the world of the dead, your presence is there.”
When we fall and hit the lowest level or on our last breath we should always remember that we are never alone and it’s all part of the process.
