Daily Zohar # 3810 – Miketz – Then Joseph remembered the dream
Daily Zohar 3810
“Then Joseph remembered the dreams which he had dreamed about them and said to them, “You are spies! You have come to see the nakedness of the land!”
“Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, And do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles;.”
Rabbi Chiya quotes the above and explains that the Holy One Blessed be He created man so he would merit his honor, serve him, and study the Torah day and night because the Holy One Blessed He is forever pleased in the Torah.
The first verse above is in the Torah after Joseph’s brothers came to Egypt to buy food. Joseph recognized them, but they didn’t know him. When Joseph saw them, he understood that his dreams had come true. He saw them bowing down to him in his dream as they did now in his presence.
When God created man, he gave him the Torah and taught him to know its ways. We learn that from the verse in Job 28:27, 28
“Then He saw wisdom and declared it; He prepared it; indeed, He searched it out.”
“And to man, He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, And to depart from evil is understanding.'”
Because man looked into the Torah but didn’t follow it, he violated the commandments of his master and was caught in his sins.
Some violate one precept in the Torah and get caught for it. King Solomon, who was the wisest of all people in the world, transgressed one precept by having many wives. For that, it caused him to be deprived of his kingship. Ashmedai, the king of demons, made him a layman. The sages also said that it caused the kingdom to be split among his sons.
He who transgressed many things in the Torah experienced even more so.
Friday would be a good day to make a ** Donation, especially if you didn’t donate in the past week. Giving on Friday, which is an aspect of Yessod, expands the vessel for the Light and honor of Shabbat.
** Your donation doesn’t have to be given to the same place every week. You can alternate or split your donation among those who benefit you spiritually.
