Zohar Tazria
Continued from previous DZ
#141
If people turn away from the Holy One Blessed be He and act like beasts, they lose the connection to holiness and cannot draw holy souls from above. King Solomon cried and said;
Proverbs 19:2
“גַּם בְּלֹא דַעַת נֶפֶשׁ לֹא טוֹב וְאָץ בְּרַגְלַיִם חוֹטֵא.”
“Also it is not good for a soul to be without knowledge (דַעַת Da’at), And he sins who hastens with his feet.”
“Knowledge”, “Da’at” is the Holy One Blessed be He. Without him the outcome is “not good for a soul (נֶפֶשׁ, Nefesh)”, meaning that by their negative deeds they attract souls level from the other side. It is caused when their heart is turned away from the Holy One Blessed be He.

#142
He who is under the control of the evil inclination, and without the desire and intention of his heart to be with the Holy One, the evil inclination attracts a soul that is not good to him, as said above, ”without knowledge (דַעַת Da’at), not a good soul”.
“who hastens with his feet” means that he is impatient and doesn’t see the path of Hashem. Because of that, he is surely a sinner and sins in all his ways.

#143
When people experience diseases and plagues it testifies to their brazenness, and it shows that the Holy One Blessed be He, is disgusted with them. He ignores them, until they do good deeds as before, get cleansed, and earn merits.
The evidence of a person’s deeds appears on his skin and the priest can see and identify if the cause is impurity or it comes from the other side.

Lesson;
Purity is a pleasant aroma for the Holy One Blessed, be He. An impure person connects to the other side. Hashem is disgusted with him because nothing impure can come close to Hashem. The sacrifices in the Holy Temple were pure animals that created a pleasant aroma to YHVH. There are many verses like the one below that connect the pure sacrifice to an elevation of a pleasant aroma to YHVH.
Leviticus 3:5
“and Aaron’s sons shall burn it on the altar upon the burnt sacrifice, which is on the wood that is on the fire, as an offering made by fire, a sweet aroma to YHVH.”
Only after a person cleanses himself with good deeds like Torah studies and Tzedakah, does he come closer to the Light and his scent becomes pleasant.
