Daily Zohar # 4062 – Balak – A cursed praise
Daily Zohar 4062

“He shall pour water from his buckets, And his seed shall be in many waters. “His king shall be higher than Agag, And his kingdom shall be exalted.”
This is like a man who has beautiful hands and good looking. A man with an evil eye passed by, looked at those hands holding them, and began to praise them, saying, how beautiful they are, how handsome they are, and the fingers are from a supreme beauty. Then he said, may it be that these hands be within precious stones, dressed in precious garments of crimson, and used in his house, and stored in his box.

Similarly, Balaam began to praise Isarel;
Numbers 24:5
“How good are your tents, O Jacob! Your dwellings, O Israel!”
See how beautiful, how handsome, etc. Then he said,” water shall pour from his buckets,” which means you will not find this beautiful planting outside of these dwellings, the planting of the Torah. He said, “And his seed shall be in many waters” to be in the Klippot, which are called “many mighty waters,” meaning that the Holy Spirit will not grow and multiply.
Lesson;
The Zohar explains that Balaam used words of praise, but his words’ deeper meaning was to place Israel and the Torah among the Klipot and limit their ability to connect to the Holy Spirit.
We should gently stop people from over-praising us. We accept simple compliments, but if a person takes his time to praise, then the risk of evil eye rises. If one says, “Wow, what a beautiful shirt/dress…” we interrupt and say, “I am not sure I like it, do you really think so?, I’m about to return it to the store… do you want to buy it?”. Usually, the person answers “no,” which disconnects from the ‘item’ nullifying the evil eye.
We are just a few days before Rosh Hashanah; we should pay our debts and stand free of judgments in front of the supreme judge. If you benefit from the Daily Zohar studies and don’t make donations from time to time, now would be a good time to make a ** Donation - Rosh Hashanah and support the Daily Zohar that makes Zohar studies available, free for all.
** Before Rosh Hashanah, we make efforts to pay our ‘debts’ to ALL channels of Lights that benefit us regularly.
