Zohar Kedoshim
Continued from previous DZ
#93
One who engages in the Torah but does not engage in it in the path of truth and the righteous way, that speech ascends and deviates from the path. No one will connect with it, and everyone rejects it outside. It wanders around the world and does not find a place. What caused this? It is that person who deviated from the straight path. As it is said,
Leviticus 19:14
“You shall not curse the deaf, nor put a stumbling block before the blind, but shall fear your God: I am YHVH.”
This verse means not to put a stumbling block in the words of the Torah that come out of his mouth. And therefore it is written, ‘You shall fear your God; I am YHVH.’

#94
One whose desire is to study the Torah but cannot find someone to teach him, and in his love for the Torah, he speaks of it and stammers over it with stammering, not knowing, each word ascends, and the Holy One, Blessed be He, rejoices in that word, accepts it, and plants it around that stream, which is Binah. These words become great trees, that is, great lights, and they are called ‘עַרְבֵי נַחַל’ ‘willows of the brook.’ This is what is meant by,
Proverbs 5:19
“As a loving deer and a graceful doe, Let her breasts satisfy you at all times, And always be enraptured with her love.”

King David said,
Psalm 86:11
“Teach me Your way, O YHVH; I will walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your name.”
And it is written,
Psalm 27:11
“Teach me Your way, O LORD, And lead me in a smooth path because of my enemies.”
Blessed are those who know the ways of the Torah and engage in it in the righteous path, for they plant trees of life above, meaning they draw down Mochin (light from the upper three sefirot) to Zeir Anpin, which is called the Tree of Life. All of these are healing to the soul. Therefore, it is written,
Malachi 2:6
“The Torah of truth was in his mouth, And injustice was not found on his lips. He walked with Me in peace and equity, And turned many away from iniquity.”

Lesson;
This Zohar teaching emphasizes the critical importance of engaging with the Torah in a truthful and upright manner. It recognizes the profound responsibility that comes with teaching and studying sacred texts. It highlights the consequences of deviating from this path and the ethical imperatives that underpin Torah study.
The value placed on the sincere effort to study Torah is profound, regardless of one’s initial level of understanding. It highlights the divine appreciation and joy in these efforts and their transformative power in the spiritual realm. The imagery of planting and growth around Binah conveys sincere Torah study’s nurturing and elevating impact. We should seek genuine and honest engagement with the study of the Torah. There are consequences of false teachings and the profound spiritual impact of truthfully studying and teaching the Torah. We need proper guidance and Hashem’s blessings to walk on the path of truth.
Deuteronomy 18:13
“Thou shalt be perfect (blameless) with YHVH your God.”
