Holy Zohar text. Daily Zohar -4812

Hebrew translation:

200. בֹּא וּרְאֵה, כָּךְ זֶה וַדַּאי, לֵיל רְבִיעִי שֶׁל שַׁבָּת צְרִיכִים לְהִשָּׁמֵר מֵהֶם. מָה הַטַּעַם? מִשּׁוּם שֶׁכָּתוּב (בראשית א) יְהִי מְאֹרֹת. מְאֵרַת כָּתוּב חָסֵר, וַהֲרֵי פֵּרְשׁוּהָ, שֶׁבִּגְלַל שֶׁהִיא חֲסֵרָה, כַּמָּה קְבוּצוֹת שֶׁל רוּחוֹת נִכְלְלוּ בַּמְּאֹרֹת הַזֶּה. קְלָלוֹת וּמְאֵרֹת הֵן בִּפְגִימַת הַלְּבָנָה, וְכֻלָּם שׁוֹלְטִים בְּאוֹתוֹ הַלַּיְלָה.
201. בְּלֵיל הַשַּׁבָּת, כֵּיוָן שֶׁכֻּלָּם מִתְפַּזְּרִים לְהִכָּנֵס לַנֶּקֶב שֶׁל הֶעָפָר, שֶׁלֹּא יְכוֹלִים לִשְׁלֹט, צָרִיךְ אָדָם יְחִידִי לְהִשָּׁמֵר. וְעוֹד, אַף עַל גַּב שֶׁלֹּא יְכוֹלִים לִשְׁלֹט, נִרְאִים לִפְעָמִים, וּבֶן אָדָם יְחִידִי צָרִיךְ לְהִשָּׁמֵר.
202. דָּבָר זֶה כָּךְ שָׁנִינוּ, וְאִם כָּךְ, זֶה חִסָּרוֹן שֶׁל הַשְּׁמִירָה. אֲבָל בְּשַׁבָּת הַשְּׁמִירָה מְצוּיָה לָעָם הַקָּדוֹשׁ, וּכְשֶׁנִּכְנֶסֶת שַׁבָּת, הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא מְעַטֵּר כָּל אֶחָד וְאֶחָד מִיִּשְׂרָאֵל, וְרוֹצֶה שֶׁיִּשְׁמְרוּ אֶת הָעֲטָרָה הַקְּדוֹשָׁה הַזּוֹ שֶׁהִתְעַטְּרוּ בָהּ. וְאַף עַל גַּב שֶׁהֵם אֵינָם נִמְצָאִים בְּיִשּׁוּב, לִפְעָמִים הֵם נִרְאִים לְאָדָם יְחִידִי וּמוּרָע מַזָּלוֹ. וְצָרִיךְ לְאָדָם לְהִתְעַטֵּר בַּעֲטָרָה קְדוֹשָׁה וְלִשְׁמֹר אוֹתָהּ.

And he answers: Come and see—this is undoubtedly true. On the night of the fourth day (Wednesday night), One must be cautious of the Sitra Achra. What is the reason? Because it is written: “יְהִי מְאֹרֹת” “Let there be luminaries” (Genesis 1:14). The word “Me’orot” (luminaries) is written defectively, without a Vav (מארת instead of מאורות), alluding to the diminishment of the moon (Malchut). And because the moon, which represents Malchut, is diminished, many camps of harmful spirits are included within this “מארה” “Me’erah” (curse). Thus, curses and afflictions arise due to the diminishment of the moon, and all these forces rule over that night. Therefore, it is forbidden to go out alone at night.

On Shabbat night, since all harmful spirits scatter and go to enter the crevices of the earth so that they will not be able to rule or cause harm, it implies that before they enter these crevices, they still have the ability to cause harm. Therefore, a person who is alone must be careful not to go out alone because these forces may still harm him while they are on their way before they fully descend into their place (the crevices of the earth). Additionally, even though these spirits cannot rule on Shabbat, they can still sometimes appear, and a person who is alone must be careful not to see them because seeing them can cause harm.

He quotes what he has learned regarding this question, Saying: This is how I learned about this matter. And this is his wording: He asks: “If it is forbidden for a person to go out alone on Shabbat night, does this not indicate a deficiency in divine protection?” And he answers: “But on Shabbat, divine protection exists for the holy nation.” For when Shabbat begins, the Holy One, Blessed be He, crowns each and every Jew with an additional soul. And therefore, one must guard this holy crown with which they have been adorned. And even though the harmful spirits do not dwell in inhabited places on Shabbat, nevertheless, sometimes to a person who is alone, they may appear. And when this happens, his mazal (fortune) weakens. Thus, a person must remain adorned with the holy crown (additional soul of Shabbat) and guard it.
