Zohar Beresheet
Continued from previous DZ
#243
And immediately at that time—when Moses will be revealed at the End of Days—the Holy One will plant Israel in the holy Garden of Eden. And this is what is meant by the verse: “וַיִּטַּע ה’ אֱלֹקים גַּן־בְּעֵדֶן” – “And Hashem God planted a garden in Eden” (Bereshit 2:8), meaning, that the previously mentioned unification of Leah and Rachel into one Partzuf (complete spiritual configuration) is the aspect of the Garden of Eden. And Israel, who is Zeir Anpin, includes both of them, and thus it is considered that Israel is in the Garden of Eden. Because Eden refers to the upper Shechinah (supernal Mother, Binah), and the Garden refers to the lower Shechinah (Malchut). When they are united, they are called Gan Eden (Garden of Eden). The idea is that throughout all generations, He (Hashem) bestows upon Israel Mochin from the aspect of Gan Eden, as stated above. But it is not constant, since Israel is still considered to be outside of the Garden of Eden. But at the End of Days, the Holy One will elevate Israel into Gan Eden, just like Adam before the sin. Then these mochin will be constant and eternal. And the verse:
“וַיִּטַּע ה’ אֱלֹקים” – “And Hashem God planted”, refers to Aba and Ima (Chochmah and Binah), who build the Nukvah. “The Garden” refers to the lower Shechinah, “Eden” represents the upper Mother (Binah), and “the man” refers to the middle pillar, known as Israel. She (the Shechinah) will be his planting, his spouse, and will never depart from him, and she will be his eternal delight.
And at that time, when they are made into one Partzuf (configuration) in the secret of Gan Eden, the Shechinah will be his planting, his mate, and will never separate from him. She will be his delight forever.
And the Holy One, blessed be He, will plant Israel at that time as a holy planting in the world, as it is written: “נֵצֶר מַטָּעַי מַעֲשֵׂה יָדַי לְהִתְפָּאֵר” – “A shoot of My planting, the work of My hands in which I glory” (Yeshayahu 60:21).
#244
And then it is said: “וַיַּצְמַח ה’ אֱלֹקִים” – “And Hashem God caused to grow” (Bereshit 2:9) – this refers to Aba and Ima (Father and Mother, Chochmah and Binah). “כל עץ נחמד” – “Every tree that is pleasant” – this refers to the Tzaddik, which is the Yessod of Zeir Anpin, called “tree,” and he is “pleasant.” “וטוב למאכל” – “and good for food” – this refers to Zeir Anpin, called the middle column, from which all nourishment and sustenance flow. Meaning, everything is contained within him, and the Tzaddik (Yessod) is only nourished from him, and the Shechinah is nourished from the Tzaddik, and the lower worlds do not need to contribute (מ” ן, elevating female water) – rather, all receive sustenance below through him (Yessod).
For in exile, the Shechinah and the Tzadik (Yessod) had no nourishment except through the eighteen blessings of prayer, but in that time (the time of redemption), he (Yessod) will provide nourishment for all.
Because during exile, the Shechinah and the Tzadik were only sustained through the eighteen blessings of the prayer (Amida), which elevate the feminine waters (Mayin Nukvin). But at that time (the final redemption), Yessod will nourish everyone, the Shechinah and the lower worlds, without any awakening from below (אתערותא דלתתא).
Notes:
In the time of redemption, the spiritual structure of creation will be elevated to a perfected state where Zeir Anpin (the middle column) and Yessod (Tzaddik) will supply divine sustenance directly to the Shechinah and the world. Unlike in exile, where this flow required the effort of prayer, the final state will be one of perpetual divine nourishment, effortless and complete – symbolized by the verse: “וַיַּצְמַח ה אֱלֹקִים כָּל עֵץ נֶחְמָד לְמַרְאֶה וְטוֹב לְמַאֲכָל” – “And Hashem God caused to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food.”
