Daily Zohar # 5161 – Vayikra – When you fail to connect, she rules
Daily Zohar 5161

Zohar Vayikra

#327
Woe to the world when women rule over the world. And when the prophet of Israel saw that Israel were twisting their ways and were found in sins before their Master, then he said: “נָשִׁים שַׁאֲנַנּוֹת” “Women at ease” — how can you be quiet? Do you not sit without awakening in the world? “קוֹמְנָה” “Rise up” and rule over the men. And in another place, we have established this verse. And the companions established it.
#328
But they did not say it except as we find with Deborah. As it is written: “הִיא שׁוֹפְטָה אֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל בָּעֵת הַהִיא” “She judged Israel at that time” (Judges 4:4). And therefore we have learned: Woe to the man whose wife blesses on his behalf at his table — that is, who makes his wife say the blessing over food because he does not know how to bless. Similarly with Deborah: “She judged Israel at that time.” Woe to the generation in which no man is found who can judge the people, but only one female.
Notes:
The Zohar sees the rule of women as a sign of spiritual crisis and divine rebuke. When men fail in their duties and sins abound, the prophet calls upon “women at ease” to rise and rule as a form of judgment. This is not presented as an ideal but as a consequence of male spiritual failure.
The classic example is Deborah, who judged Israel because no worthy man was available. The Zohar compares this to a man who cannot even recite the blessing over his own table and relies on his wife — a humiliating reversal of roles. The teaching serves as a strong call for men to fulfill their spiritual responsibilities so that proper divine order (with balanced male and female roles) can be maintained. When men are unworthy, the feminine aspect of judgment is empowered to rule as a form of correction.
