Continuing from Daily Zohar #548, 549, 550 and 551
In this section of the Zohar a mysterious person, “Elder”, appears to Rabbi Shimon and reveals the deeper secret of the Yibum to him.
When the vessel is ready and the light is not channeled to it with the proper action, it is held by the negative side on all three levels, Nefesh, Ruach and Neshama.
Psalms 84:4
“גַּם-צִפּוֹר מָצְאָה בַיִת, וּדְרוֹר קן לָהּ אֲשֶׁר שָׁתָה אֶפְרֹחֶיהָ”
“Yea, the sparrow has found a house and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young;”
The analogy here is as follow;
The צִפּוֹר, ‘sparrow’, is the aspect of the Neshamah. The ‘swallow’ is the aspect of Ruach and the ‘young’ is the Nefesh.
When the Yibum, which is the action of bringing the potential light to the vessel, is done, all levels of the souls come at the same time. As it is said in Job 34:14
“אִם-יָשִׂים אֵלָיו לִבּוֹ; רוּחוֹ וְנִשְׁמָתוֹ, אֵלָיו יֶאֱסֹף”
“If He set His heart (place of the Nefesh) upon man, if He gathers unto Himself his spirit (Ruach) and his breath (Neshamah)”
If the Yibum is not done, then the vessel needs to be released from the negative side that is holding the place of the light in the vessel. This process is called חליצה, ‘extraction/release’ and it saves the soul from the ‘Snake/negative side’.
This secret is revealed in Psalms 124:7
“נַפְשֵׁנוּ כְּצִפּוֹר נִמְלְטָה, מִפַּח יוֹקְשִׁים הַפַּח נִשְׁבָּר, וַאֲנַחְנוּ נִמְלָטְנוּ”
“Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we are escaped”
Practical lesson: When you build a spiritual vessel with your desires, it must be brought to life by setting continuation elements in it. It is important to follow through with proper actions to fulfill the vessel otherwise it could fall into the negative side.
