Hebrew translation:
Tikkun 47 – 4
‘Let us make man in our image’ is the aspect of the central column, which is Man, Adam, אָדָם, the six sefirot of Zeir Anpin
Genesis 1:27
“וַיִּבְרָא אֱלֹהִים אֶת-הָאָדָם בְּצַלְמוֹ, בְּצֶלֶם אֱלֹהִים בָּרָא אֹתוֹ: זָכָר וּנְקֵבָה, בָּרָא אֹתָם ”
“And God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them”
Both male and female were created in Adam to tell us that there is a spiritual aspect to Man. When God decided to create the system for us, he defined a female aspect in the spiritual system to create polarity in his oneness. This female aspect of God is the Shechina. They are different aspects of one Light. It was the same with the creation of the first Man. He was made from both aspects of male and female.
The blessings, which is the flow of light in our life, come only when there is a unification of male and female, light and vessel and the Light with the Shechina on Shabbat.
After God separated Eve from Adam, female from the male, it said in Genesis 2:24 ”
“Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife, and they shall be one flesh.”
The Torah put no doubts about the effect of the separation between male and female and what is needed to be done.
The separation broke the oneness that we had and created a great lack that we need to fulfill. Our soul cannot rest without bringing back our missing part.
Genesis 1:28 “and he blessed them…”. God bless them, meaning Adam when he was still male and female in one existence.
As separated, we miss the blessing of God that we had when we were as one. We seek and cry for the love and the oneness that we had at the time of our creation. The desire for our soul mate is so strong that the hope of finding it keeps us apart from true relationships and the tikkun process. Adam and Eve were born as one and they were the first and only true soul mates. Eve gave birth to Cain and Abel that came out with their soul mates. Cain killed Abel because he had two soul mates and he got only one. With the following generations the distance between the actual soul mates grew farther.
Jacob worked for fourteen years to have his soul mates. We work several life times to come closer to having a partner that we share minimal Tikkun process. Only in the Final Redemption we will feel the true soul mates because the negativity that separate us from each other will be removed.
The Snake keeps pushing the ‘soul mate’ desire with an illusionary vision of it. He keeps us apart from doing our correction of elevating our soul to be one with the light. Soul mate is not supposed to be ‘Prince Charming’ or ‘type A’ woman. If we find a partner that we can love, respect and be able to work together then we are following the light and the Tikkun process.
The Torah tells us that we must cleave to our spouse and be as one with them. No matter how strong or weak is your love and relationship with your spouse, when you do things together, do is as one and meditate to be one with the soul of Adam at the moment of creation and on Genesis 2:24, to connect to the original blessing of God, especially on Friday night. Give it a try and you will see that the light comes into your relationship and elevates the soul of your mate.
