Tikkun 21 – 4
Genesis 39:7 “וַתִּשָּׂא אֵשֶׁת-אֲדֹנָיו אֶת-עֵינֶיהָ, אֶל-יוֹסֵף; וַתֹּאמֶר, שִׁכְבָה עִמִּי…”
“…his master’s wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said: ‘Lie with me.’”
Potifar’s wife was one of the four most beautiful women in the world (Talmud Megilah 15a). She wanted to have sex with him and take his energy.
39:8 “But he refused, and said to his master’s wife: ‘Behold, my master, knows me and not what is in the house, and he put all that he has into my hand.”
Joseph knew that he had all the light of the world on his shoulders to manifest.
39:9 “he is not greater in this house than I; neither has he kept back any thing from me but you, because את is his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against ELOHIM?”
He told her that her husband is not greater than him in this house, which is Malchut. She was from the impure system and he can not channel his light through her because את ET (Alef Tav), which is Malchut and the Shechina is his wife.
He didn’t explain his refusal as it would be a betrayal to her husband. He said that the sin is against ELHYM. Not YHVH but ELHYM, which is the creative force of this world and the aspect of judgment.
When Joseph refused her, he became the chariot to the Sefirah of Yessod that led him two years later to have control over Egypt and all the material world.
Our prayers are important tools to bring light to Malchut. Previously we said that if the Snake is disturbing us we should continue the prayer until it’s completion. But if the situation might bring judgment on us by connecting us to the other side, then we should stop and escape from the judgment.
