Daily Zohar # 2197 – Masei – 42 openings of wisdom
Hebrew translation:
.
Psalms 118:19
“פִּתְחוּ-לִי שַׁעֲרֵי-צֶדֶק; אָבֹא-בָם, אוֹדֶה יָהּ”
“Open to me the gates of righteousness; I will enter into them (42), I will give thanks unto YH.”
Rabbi Shimon stood up and said: “Master of the worlds, open my eyes to see them on the upper level. ‘I will enter into them (בָ”ם 42)’ with 42 letters of the holy name, to know the root of each letter. From בְּרֵאשִׁית “In the beginning” until ‘the earth was unformed and void’. They are
Every letter has a saying to reveal and a path in the ten sayings of creation and 32 paths. (The world was created with ten sayings of “and God said let there be….”. 32 times the name of God appears in the story of Creation). They all stem from the name איה (that is Keter) and that is the explanation to the verse above that says “אָבֹא-בָם, אוֹדֶה יָהּ” “I will enter into them (בם 42) , I will give thanks unto YH יה”. The איה is for the upper three Sefirot and the seven Sefirot are included in the seven names (initials of the seven lines of the Ana B’Koach, as above).
איה (Keter) is numerically equal to אוֹדֶה “I will give thanks”.
The א of ‘איה’ is the highest Keter and יה is Chokmah and Binah.
Rabbi Shimon asked God to open his eyes that is at the level of Chokmah and that opening connects to understanding (Binah) and brings the power of the 42 letters to the lower levels.
When we recite the Ana B’Koach we need to have in our consciousness the knowledge that every letter is significant and completes the force that is revealed through it. It’s better to memorize the letters and bring them in front of your eyes when you recite the Ana B’Koach.
