Daily Zohar # 3450 – Ha’azinu – The hilulah of Rabbi Shimon
Hebrew translation:
.
Zohar Ha’azinu – Idra Zuta
#200
People from the village of Tzipori came and demanded to take the body of Rabbi Shimon for burial in their village. They were ready to fight and take the body by force. Many of the people of Meron screamed at them and expelled them, claiming that Rabbi Shimon should be buried in their place.
After the bed came out of the house, it rose in the air and a fire burned ahead of the bed. They heard a voice saying “Come and gather for the Hilulah of Rabbi Shimon’. The voice continued and quote the verse from Isaiah 57:2
“יָבוֹא שָׁלוֹם יָנוּחוּ עַל מִשְׁכְּבוֹתָם הֹלֵךְ נְכֹחוֹ.”
“He shall enter into peace; They shall rest in their beds, Each one walking in his uprightness.”
#201
When the bed entered the cave, they heard a voice from inside announcing “This man who makes the earth trembles, incites worlds, and many prosecutors in heavens are silenced on this day for your sake. It is Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai whose master praises him every day. Blessed is his share above and below. Many supernal treasures are reserved for him. It is said of him (Daniel 12:13) ‘וְאַתָּה לֵךְ לַקֵּץ וְתָנוּחַ וְתַעֲמֹד לְגֹרָלְךָ לְקֵץ הַיָּמִין.’” “But you, go your way till the end; for you shall rest, and will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days.””

Lesson;
Rabbi Shimon’s soul was separated from his body but he still had control over the events in the world below. His bed led the people to the cave he chose to be buried in. During this time the heavens were open and voices from heaven can be heard below, inviting souls above and the people below to join the Hilulah of Rabbi Shimon.
