203. וּמִשּׁוּם זֶה קָדוֹשׁ קָדוֹשׁ קָדוֹשׁ. קֹדֶשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵל נַעֲשֶׂה מֵהֶם. וּמִשּׁוּם שֶׁיִּשְׂרָאֵל מֻכְתָּרִים בְּשָׁלֹשׁ מַדְרֵגוֹת, כַּאֲשֶׁר מִתְחַבְּרִים כְּאֶחָד נִקְרָאִים קֹדֶשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵל לַה’, שֶׁהִיא רֵאשִׁית. וַהֲרֵי בֵּאַרְנוּ תְּבוּאָתֹה, בְּהֵ”א. כָּל אֹכְלָיו יֶאְשָׁמוּ. מַהוּ כָּל אֹכְלָיו יֶאְשָׁמוּ? אָמַר רַבִּי אַבָּא, הֲרֵי נֶאֱמַר, שֶׁכָּתוּב (ויקרא כב) וְאִישׁ כִּי יֹאכַל קֹדֶשׁ בִּשְׁגָגָה. וְכָתוּב (שם) וְכָל זָר לֹא יֹאכַל קֹדֶשׁ, וְיִשְׂרָאֵל נִקְרְאוּ קֹדֶשׁ, מִשּׁוּם כָּךְ כָּל אֹכְלָיו יֶאְשָׁמוּ.
204. אָמַר רַבִּי אֶלְעָזָר, הַתְחָלָה וְסִיּוּם שֶׁל הַכֹּל נִכְלָל בַּקֹּדֶשׁ. (א’) וְחָכְמָה עֶלְיוֹנָה נִקְרֵאת קֹדֶשׁ, וְכַאֲשֶׁר מְאִירָה הַחָכְמָה הָעֶלְיוֹנָה הַזּוֹ, מְאִירָה חָכְמַת שְׁלֹמֹה, כְּמוֹ שֶׁכָּתוּב (מלכים-א ה) וַתֵּרֶב חָכְמַת שְׁלֹמֹה, שֶׁעוֹמֶדֶת הַלְּבָנָה בִשְׁלֵמוּתָהּ, וַהֲרֵי בֵּאַרְנוּ. וְכַאֲשֶׁר מִתְבָּרֶכֶת מֵהַיְסוֹד, כָּךְ קוֹרְאִים לָהּ – קֹדֶשׁ, שֶׁהִיא מְאִירָה בִשְׁלֵמוּת. וְכַאֲשֶׁר לֹא מְאִירָה וְנִכְתֶּרֶת בִּשְׁלֵמוּתָהּ, קוֹרְאִים לָהּ רוּחַ הַקֹּדֶשׁ, וְלֹא נִקְרֵאת קֹדֶשׁ כְּאוֹתוֹ שֶׁל מַעְלָה.
205. וְכַאֲשֶׁר מִתְבָּרְכִים מִזֶּה הַיְסוֹד וּמֵינִיקָה לְכָל אֵלּוּ שֶׁל מַטָּה, נִקְרֵאת אֵם, כְּאוֹתָהּ שֶׁלְּמַעְלָה, וְקוֹרְאִים לָהּ קָדָשִׁים. וְאָז קוֹרְאִים לָהּ קֹדֶשׁ הַקֳּדָשִׁים, שֶׁבּוֹ כַלָּה, שֶׁכָּתוּב (שיר השירים ד) אִתִּי מִלְּבָנוֹן כַּלָּה וְגוֹ’. מַהוּ לְבָנוֹן? זֶה עֵדֶן, שֶׁהִלְבִּין מִכָּל הַצְּדָדִים. וְעֵדֶן הֲרֵי יָדוּעַ אֵצֶל הַחֲבֵרִים.

Zohar Ha’azinu

Rabbi Yossi says “How Israel is loved by the Holy One Blessed be He”. He called them ‘קָדוֹשׁ’ ‘Holy’ and ‘קֹדֶשׁ’ ‘Holiness’, as we read in the two verses below.
Deuteronomy 14:2
“כִּי עַם קָדוֹשׁ אַתָּה לַיהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ וּבְךָ בָּחַר יְהוָה לִהְיוֹת לוֹ לְעַם סְגֻלָּה מִכֹּל הָעַמִּים אֲשֶׁר עַל פְּנֵי הָאֲדָמָה.”
“For you are a holy (קָדוֹשׁ) people to YHVH your God, and YHVH has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.”

Jeremiah 2:3
“קֹדֶשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵל לַיהוָה רֵאשִׁית תְּבוּאָתֹה כָּל אֹכְלָיו יֶאְשָׁמוּ רָעָה תָּבֹא אֲלֵיהֶם נְאֻם יְהוָה.”
“Israel was holiness (קֹדֶשׁ) to YHVH, The firstfruits of His increase. All that devour him will offend; Disaster will come upon them,” says YHVH.’ ””
He asks what’s the difference between the two words ‘קָדוֹשׁ’ and ‘קֹדֶשׁ’ and Rabbi Aba answers that ‘קֹדֶשׁ’ ‘Holiness’ is above all because it is on the level of Chokmah. When the three ‘holy’ ‘קָדוֹשׁ’ ‘קָדוֹשׁ’ ‘קָדוֹשׁ’ that represent the three lines of Chessed, Gevurah, and Tiferet join they are gathered into the supernal place that is called ‘קֹדֶשׁ’ ‘Holiness’, which is the supernal Chokmah.

The children of Israel adorned with the three ‘קָדוֹשׁ’ and receive the supernal Chokmah that is called ‘רֵאשִׁית תְּבוּאָתֹה’ ‘firstfruits’. The last letter ‘ה’ is added to the word but not needed for the correct spelling. It implies the connection of ‘firstfruits’ to Malchut.
‘All that devour him will offend’ means that ‘קֹדֶשׁ’ holiness’ is for Israel because they connect to ‘קָדוֹשׁ’ ‘Holy’.
Leviticus 22:10
“וְכָל זָר לֹא יֹאכַל קֹדֶשׁ תּוֹשַׁב כֹּהֵן וְשָׂכִיר לֹא יֹאכַל קֹדֶשׁ.”
“‘No outsider shall eat the (קֹדֶשׁ) holy offering; one who dwells with the priest, or a hired servant, shall not eat the holy thing.”

The beginning is in Chokmah, and the ending of everything is in Malchut. They are both included in ‘קֹדֶשׁ’ ‘holiness’. When the supernal Chokmah illuminates, the moon that has the aspect of the Malchut is in full light. It has the aspect of the wisdom of King Solomon.
1 Kings 5:10
“וַתֵּרֶב חָכְמַת שְׁלֹמֹה מֵחָכְמַת כָּל בְּנֵי קֶדֶם וּמִכֹּל חָכְמַת מִצְרָיִם.”
“And Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east, and all the wisdom of Egypt.”
When Malchut is blessed from Yessod and fully illuminated, it is called ‘קֹדֶשׁ’ ‘Holiness’. When Malchut lacks the complete Light It is called The ‘Holy Spirit’ ‘רוח הקדש’ and not ‘קֹדֶשׁ’ like the supernal Chokmah.

When Malchut is blessed from Yessod and nurses the lower levels, she is called ‘Mother’ like the Mother above, Binah. Then Malchut is called ‘קדש הקדשים’ ‘Holy of Holies’, because Yessod that is ‘קֹדֶשׁ’ ‘Holiness’ with the bride, Malchut that is called ‘קדשים’ ‘Holies’ become ‘Holy of Holies’.
Songs 4:8 “אִתִּי מִלְּבָנוֹן כַּלָּה” “Come with me from Lebanon, my bride”.
Lebanon is ‘עדן’ ‘Eden’ that is the supernal Chokmah. The root for the word ‘לבנון’ ‘Lebanon’ is ‘לבן’ that means ‘white’. It represents the ‘whiteness’ of Chokmah that illuminates in Chessed that is white.
Chokmah delivers Light to Malchut from Binah, which is the river that comes out of Eden (Genesis 2:10).
