But come and see, my son. It is written, “כִּי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ אֵשׁ אֹכְלָה הוּא” “For YHVH your God is a consuming fire” (Deuteronomy 4:24). There is a fire that consumes fire. The fire of the Holy One, blessed be He, consumes another fire of the Other Side. And come and see, there are angels who sing before the Holy One, blessed be He, and when they finish the song they are nullified in a spark of consuming fire that burns them. And below the Holy One, blessed be He, prepared the fire of the altar, which is the secret of the fire of Malchut from its judgments. And this fire eats and consumes all that impure side, and that side is nullified in that flame of fire, and nothing remains of it in the world. And that person who offers his sacrifice stands over it, and with that aroma that rises from the sacrifice, the side of the spirit of impurity that rests upon him is removed from him, and he is atoned. And because of this everything is nullified and consumed, and there is no one who can stand before that fire of the altar.
Notes:
The fire of the Holy One, blessed be He, consumes the fire of the Other Side. The fire of the altar, which is the fire of Malchut, destroys the impure forces attached to the sinner. Through the rising aroma of the sacrifice, the spirit of impurity leaves the person, and he receives atonement.

Rabbi Acha was walking on the road and met Rabbi Chiya and Rabbi Yossi together. Rabbi Acha said, Certainly the three of us are destined to receive the face of the Shechinah. They joined together and went. Rabbi Acha said, Let each one say a word connected to the Torah, and we will go.
Notes:
Rabbi Acha, Rabbi Chiya, and Rabbi Yossi meet on the road. Recognizing that their joining will draw the Shechinah, they decide that each will share a teaching of Torah as they walk.
