Cantillation marks are from the head of the central column, which is Keter of Zeir Anpin.
Letters are vessels drawn down from the aspect of the Supernal Mother, which is Binah. The letters represent the lower seven Sefirot of Binah. The upper three of Binah are the little lines connected and above the letters.
The cantillations, Nikkud and letters are part of Malchut.
The Nikkud is like the soul for the letters, Cantillations are the arms that can kill the forces of the other side. Together the create the vibrations of the words that manifest the spiritual energy in the world of Malchut.
