.

Zohar Emor
Continued from previous DZ
Isaiah 63:1
“Who is this who comes from Edom, in crimsoned garments from Bozrah, he who is splendid in his apparel, marching in the greatness of his strength? “It is I, speaking in righteousness, mighty to save.””
When God comes to take revenge from those who went against his people he will ‘dress’ himself with special apparel to show his greatness and break the nations of Edom.
The commentator “Magen David” teaches us that God gets ‘dressed’ when he makes great actions in this world. Like when he created the world, brought the Flood to remove negativity, when he split the Red Sea, when he brought the Torah on Mount Sinai and in other events. The sages count 10 such events including future events.
In Isaiah’s prophecy (Chapter 63) God is dresses with special red garments that are proper for the elimination of nations of Edom and those with the aspect of the Left column.
God has different names like יהוה, אלהים, אל, שדי (the Lord, God, Almighty) and others. These names mentioned in the Torah represent different aspects of the forces that govern our world. When there are events of great change to this world, there is a need for special appearance of YHVH. The different clothing is the aspect of restricting the Light into special levels to carry out major change.
Psalms 104:1
“Bless YHVH, O my soul! YHVH my God, You are very great; You are clothed with splendor and majesty,”
Psalms 93:1
“The LORD reigns, He is clothed with majesty; The LORD has clothed and girded Himself with strength; Indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved.”
Isaiah 59:17
“He put on righteousness like a breastplate, And a helmet of salvation on His head; And He put on garments of vengeance for clothing And wrapped Himself with zeal as a mantle.”
The following verse from Daniel 7:9 describes the future event when the Endless Light (root of Keter, Atik Yomin), dressed in pure white, sits on his throne to purify the souls of the Israelites from their previous impurities.
“As I looked, thrones were placed, and the Ancient of Days took his seat; his clothing was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool; his throne was fiery flames; its wheels were burning fire.”
