Daily Zohar # 1849 – Korach – a wise man will appease it
Read the story of the Torah portion (Numbers 16:1 – 18:32)
Korach and his people were swallowed by the earth. The people came to Moses, blaming him for killing their friends. A plague started to spread and Moses sent Aaron to stop the plague.
“And Moses said unto Aaron: ‘Take thy fire-pan, and put fire on it from off the altar, and lay incense thereon, and carry it quickly unto the congregation, and make atonement for them; for there is wrath gone out from YHVH: the plague is begun.”
“The fury of a king is like messengers of death, But a wise man will appease it.”
The Zohar explains that even if the angel of death is roaming in our environment and taking the lives of people the ‘wise’ man, is a righteous man, is able to connect to the level of Chokmah, (wisdom). Only righteous people on that level have the ability to stop and remove judgment.
