Pinchas 635, 636
At the end of the portion of Nitzavim we read the following two verses.
Deuteronomy 30:19
“I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live,”
The Zohar section above is from Pinchas paragraph 635 and 636, it is part of the article related to the important elements of the meal. That study begins with DZ 1291, https://dailyzohar.com/daily-zohar-1291/.
We learn from the Zohar that during the meal we should have a Torah study to transform the energy of the food to spiritual energy of life. The Zohar quotes the sages, telling us that one should take his time during the meal to invite and feed the poor because it’s an action of Tzedakah and it will add life to the one who hosts the meal.
In the first verse above God tells us that we live in a world of life and death, blessings and curses, and suggests that we chose life so we can live. The life suggested to us is the life in the world to come.
Deuteronomy 30:20
“loving YHVH your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days, that you may dwell in the land that YHVH swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.”
The study of Torah adds long life to the soul in this world and the world to come. The Zohar explains that ‘your life’ means long life in this world and ‘length of days’ in the world to come, when the soul comes back to the body at the time of the Resurrection.
The Zohar reveals that at the time of the resurrection all souls will come back to life. Those who have the merit will enjoy death free life and those who don’t will fall down to a painful death forever.
Doing Tzedakah in this world through feeding the poor, gives our souls the merit that rises and stands strong in the Resurrection time, enjoying the bliss of immortality.
There are two aspects of poor, one in the physical level, meaning poor people with no food or home for themselves. The other type of poor is actually the entire world. The world is hungry for the Light, very few people (relatively) make the efforts to draw Light into this world.
Giving Tzedakah draws life force energy to the world, pushes away negativity and makes the world better.
The Daily Zohar is distributing the same Zohar study to thousands around the world on a daily basis, revealing great spiritual Light. Supporting the Daily Zohar and similar channels is the aspect of Tzedaka. It helps us increase our channels of Light by adding more free apps, tools and other projects that benefit everyone, poor or rich, for free.
