Zohar Pekudei
Exodus 38:21
“This is the number of the things for the tabernacle, the tabernacle of the testimony, as they were numbered according to the command of Moses, for the service of the Levites, by the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.”
The Zohar quotes the first verse of the portion and immediately quotes a verse from Isaiah 11:10
“Then in that day The nations will resort to the root of Jesse, Who will stand as a signal for the peoples; And His resting place will be glorious.”
The initiation of the Holy Tabernacle and the services performed in it established a root of connection between the Israelites and YHVH.
Jesse was the father of King David, from whose line Mashiach will come. The ‘root of Jesse’ is the channel of Mashiach that will reveal the YHVH name to all nations of the world.
The YHVH name represents the entire Tree of Life. When Mashiach comes to the world, the root of the Tree, which is located in the Holy Temple in Jerusalem, will be filled with Light that will draw the entire world to it. Everyone will receive from it all the nourishment that they need.
‘His resting place’ is the Holy Temple as it said in Psalms 132:13,14 “כִּי-בָחַר יְהוָה בְּצִיּוֹן; אִוָּהּ, לְמוֹשָׁב לוֹ
“For YHVH has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His habitation,
“This is My resting place forever; Here I will dwell, for I have desired it.”
As we learned before, ‘Zion’ is the aspect of Yessod of Malchut, Which is the spiritual point above Malchut. Jerusalem is the aspect of Malchut where the Holy Temple is and the ‘resting’ place for YHVH.
We ‘rest’ on Shabbat so we can have better connection to the Light of YHVH.
The continuous flow of Light to the world through the Holy Temple will bring the state that is described in Isaiah 30:26
“Moreover, the light of the moon will be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be seven-fold, as the light of seven days, in the day when YHVH binds up the brokenness of his people, and heals the wounds inflicted by his blow”
