Zohar Balak
#81
The Holy Land represents Malchut and under control of the Holy One Blessed be He and the other-side has no permission to enter. The Zohar asks, if so then how the Land is checked for having the faith and connection to her owner, who is the Central Column, Zeir Anpin.
Connection to the Central Column makes a correction that prevent Chokmah from coming directly from the upper level but reveal the light of Chokmah from Malchut up.
The aspect of faith and connection is checked by bringing barley as offering, similar to the secret of testing unfaithful wife (see DZ 2745, DZ 2746).

Genesis 1:27,28
“And God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”
“God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
The Yenuka continues to explain that if the Snake didn’t have sex with Eve, there would be no continuation of generations. Same thing with the sin of the Golden Calf. If they didn’t sin then they would stay in immortal state, having no children.
The first Torah that Moses brought from Mount Sinai was with the light of immortality and in such case, the generations would stop.
The sins brought mortality on the people. They had to bring children to the world to continue the existence of life and the connection of God to this world, Malchut.
The point that the Yenuka brings is that before they sinned, God said (Genesis 1:28) ‘Be fruitful and multiply’. This can lead us to understand that God’s original plan already had a decree that they will sin.
The Talmud tells us that when the sages came together to remove the evil inclination of sexual desires from the world, they found out a ‘side-effect’ that chickens didn’t produce even one egg. They had to restore it back to keep the continuation of life in the world.
It means that without the involvement of the Evil Inclination, there’s no children. The command of ‘be fruitful’ said before the sin to indicate that there’s always the aspect of ‘Chaff and straw’ attached to the Holy. It is the ‘warm up’ of the desire before the act to procreate in holiness.
The Holy Land is the secret of Malchut in full connection with Binah. The essence of this Light is called Zeir Anpin, ‘Israel’, ‘ישראל’ that is the words of ‘לי ראש’, ‘a head for me’ or ‘I have a head’. The Holy Land is called ‘ארץ ישראל’,’The Land of Israel’ and its head is Zeir Anpin.
