Psalms 104:1
“בָּרְכִי נַפְשִׁי אֶת-יְהוָה יְהוָה אֱלֹהַי גָּדַלְתָּ מְּאֹד הוֹד וְהָדָר לָבָשְׁתָּ”
“Bless YHVH, O my soul! O YHVH my God, You have grown very much; You are clothed with splendor and majesty,”
“YHVH my God” is the beginning of the connection to faith and elevation to Chokmah that is the aspect of thoughts and to Binah that is the aspect of the world to come. Chokmah and Binah are a pair that would never be separated because they deliver the light of the Endless to the lower worlds.
‘You have grown’,’גָּדַלְתָּ’ is the beginning of the lower seven Sefirot, which is the first day, Chessed, Right side.
‘Very much’, ‘מְּאֹד’ is Gevurah, Left side.
#84
‘splendor and majesty’, ‘הוֹד וְהָדָר’ is for Hod and Netzach. Tiferet that represents the Tree of Life, Zeir Anpin and the unification of Right and Left is concealed here because the Left is represented here as ‘מְּאֹד’,’Very much’. This Left include the branch that connects the minister of the other-side, Sam-el to the Left.
Lesson;
We read Psalms 104 every Rosh Chodesh to connect to teh blessings that God reveals on the new month.
When we make blessings and appreciate YHVH we connect to the Tree of Life and get ‘dressed’ with splendor and majesty.
Another important lesson is the aspect of concealing the good from the other-side.
Deuteronomy 28:8
“יְצַו יְהוָה אִתְּךָ, אֶת-הַבְּרָכָה, בַּאֲסָמֶיךָ, וּבְכֹל מִשְׁלַח יָדֶךָ; וּבֵרַכְךָ–בָּאָרֶץ, אֲשֶׁר-יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ נֹתֵן לָךְ”
“YHVH will command the blessing upon you in your barns and in all that you put your hand to, and He will bless you in the land which YHVH your God gives you.”
The sages explain that “In your barn” is a place out of sight and it means that blessings come to what is concealed, out of sight.
If we look at nature we see a proves to that principle. A seed must be concealed in the ground before it grows to be a tree. A man put seeds inside a woman and a baby grows about three months before the process of growth becomes visual. If we ‘show off’ our ‘gifts’ they attract evil eyes and the forces of the negative-side. If one starts something new, it would be wise not to share the happy occasion immediately. We should let the ‘seeds’ of these beginnings to grow and get stronger before revealing it. Counting our money and other valuables create an aspect of ‘exposure’ and connection to the world of Malchut where darkness, judgment, and limitation exists.
This study reveals the spiritual reason for concealing the blessings that is Tiferet and the connection to the Light of the Tree of Life. When we start a connection we build a vessel and that involve the Left, negative-side because we are in Malchut. Only after we have a vessel, the Light can come in without the attachment of the Left that may drain the light from the vessel and break. The concealment let the Light holds stronger and support the vessel.
We should also conceal health issues. We shouldn’t tell people about our health issues. When we give a description, we reveal the aspect of judgment and create an ‘image’ in the mind of the other people. It creates a stronger manifestation, giving the negative-side a stronger hold on that judgment. When we ask people to pray for another for health, it would be better to avoid specifying details. Prayer is a simple request, asking God to send healing to that person. God knows exactly what are the issues that brought that person to his current state and with the support of others, especially Tzadikim and Tzedakah, God can ease the judgment of the person in need. A study for the sake of another person is also an aspect of Tzedakah.
