Numbers 24:16
“נְאֻם, שֹׁמֵעַ אִמְרֵי-אֵל, וְיֹדֵעַ, דַּעַת עֶלְיוֹן; מַחֲזֵה שַׁדַּי יֶחֱזֶה, נֹפֵל וּגְלוּי עֵינָיִם.”
“The oracle of him who hears the words of God, And knows the knowledge of the Most High, Who sees the vision of the Almighty, Falling down, and eyes uncovered.”

Balaam continued praising himself as one ‘Who sees the vision of the Almighty (שדי)’ so people would believe that he sees visions from out of the physical realm.
The name שדי is related to the level of Yessod connecting us from Malchut to the three columns of Chessed, Gevurah and Tiferet that are supported by Netzach and Hod that connect to prophets and prophecies.
Against 72 branches of the evil-eye, there is the holy name of 72. It is a ‘good-eye’ that blocks the evil-eye.
Balak believed that together with Balaam he could overcome the power of Israel.

Balak sent a message to Balaam telling him that his name בלק has the letters לק from the name עמלק, ‘Amalek’ and Balaam בלעם has the letters עמ of the name Amalek so together they can form a strong force against Israel.
Rabbi Shimon says that the beginning of the name Balak, בלק is בל that is the same as the beginning of Balaam’s name, בלעם. The end of Balak is לק and it is the same as the end of Amalek’s name, עמלק.We see that the end of the name of Balak and the end of the name of Balaam are the letters of the name Amalek, עמלק.

Exodus 14:21
“וַיֵּט מֹשֶׁה אֶת יָדוֹ עַל הַיָּם וַיּוֹלֶךְ יְהוָה אֶת הַיָּם בְּרוּחַ קָדִים עַזָּה כָּל הַלַּיְלָה וַיָּשֶׂם אֶת הַיָּם לֶחָרָבָה וַיִּבָּקְעוּ הַמָּיִם.”
“Then Moses raised his hand over the sea, and the LORD opened up a path through the water with a strong east wind. The wind blew all that night, turning the seabed into dry land.”

Moses revealed a power that is activated when he raised his hand and split the sea. Balak wanted Balaam to be confident with their joint powers and take on the mission. He sent the elders of Moab and Midian with magic in their hand, believing that it is sufficient to overcome the power of Moses’s hand. The word hand is written in the singular form to tell us that they formed one hand against the hand of Moses as we read in the verse below.

Numbers 22:7
“וַיֵּלְכוּ זִקְנֵי מוֹאָב, וְזִקְנֵי מִדְיָן, וּקְסָמִים, בְּיָדָם; וַיָּבֹאוּ, אֶל-בִּלְעָם, וַיְדַבְּרוּ אֵלָיו, דִּבְרֵי בָלָק.”
“So the elders of Moab and the elders of Midian departed with the fees for divination in their hand, and they came to Balaam and repeated Balak’s words to him.”

‘Falling down, and eyes uncovered’ is a reference to two angels Aza and Azael that criticized God for creating Adam and dropped down to earth to experience the challenging world of man. They couldn’t resist the temptations of the evil inclination and couldn’t go back to heaven. Balak and Balaam learned magic and spells from Aza and Azael (Balak #422).

Lesson;
Name יוד-הי-ויו-הי represents the Light in the world of Atziluth. When we meditate on this name it blocks Evil-eye and negative thoughts/distraction that comes from the other-side. Meditating also on קרע שטן strengthen the protection.
