Zohar Chayei Sarah

Continued from previous DZ
#107
Genesis 23:20
“So the field and the cave that is in it raised (וַיָּקָם) unto Abraham for a burial place from the sons of Heth.”
The verse begins with the word ‘וַיָּקָם,’ ‘raised’ and the Zohar explains that the field and the Cave raised for Abraham after he gained ownership. Rabbi Aba explains that ‘raised’ means that what was hidden before is now raised and revealed as it was intended to be from the beginning.

#108
Rabbi Shimon says that when Abraham brought Sarah into the Cave, Adam and Eve rose and didn’t want to stay buried there. They said that they are ashamed of the sins they did before the Holy One Blessed be He. Now we will experience more shame when compared with your good deeds.

#109
Abraham said I am ready to pray before the Holy One Blessed be He for you that you will never be ashamed before him. It means that the sin would be completely forgiven. Immediately after, Abraham buried Sarah.
Genesis 23:19
“And after this, Abraham buried Sarah, his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah, before Mamre (that is, Hebron) in the land of Canaan.”
The words of the verse “And after this” tell us that after Abraham took on himself to pray for Adam, he buried Sarah.

Lesson;
The word ‘וַיָּקָם’ has the numerical value of 156 which is 6 (Sefirot of Zeir Anpin) times 26 (YHVH). This number is related to Yessod and the center column that connects the upper three Sefirot to Malchut.
Abraham is the chariot for the sefira of Chessed. As the head of Zeir Anpin Chessed receives the Light from Binah to nourish the lower levels.

The word ‘שדה’ ‘field’ represents Malchut, and ‘raise’ represents the elevation of Malchut to Yessod, making the Cave of Machpelah a connection to the upper levels. The name of the area is ‘חברון’, a name that means ‘connection’ as it is proper for the place that is considered the entrance to the Garden of Eden.
