Zohar Balak
Continued from previous DZ
#373
David said if I have sinned in this world before to the Holy One, Blessed be He, then I have been beaten and received my punishment in this world to cleanse me from all that I have sinned. The Holy One, Blessed be He, did not leave my punishment after death.
Surely “he has chastened me severely” in this world to cleanse me. And “did not let me die in the other world, that he may take his revenge from me. Rabbi Yossi spoke for himself, I have been cleansed by the Holy One, Blessed be He, once in this world, and from now on I must watch my actions so I won’t be ashamed in the next world.

Lesson;
Death is the ultimate act of correction for the soul. When Rabbi Yossi was revived, he was as pure as a soul entering the Garden of Eden. Now that he is back in this world, with the support of souls that vouched for him that he wouldn’t sin, he had to be careful with his actions not to go back after 22 years with sins to cleanse.
Some people receive an extension of life because they changed and went on the righteous path, allowing them more time to work on their correction. These people may feel that their lives became harder but the truth is that they are represented with challenges to correct their souls and have greater merits in the world to come.
King David gave thanks to Hashem for giving him sufferings in this world so he could live after death in this world.
We should always remember that life in this world is temporary. The rewards for our work would be in the world to come.

#374
The son of Rabbi Yossi opened and said,
Numbers 27:3
“אָבִ֘ינוּ֮ מֵת בַּמִּדְבָּר וְהוּא לֹא הָיָה בְּתוֹךְ הָעֵדָה הַנּוֹעָדִים עַל יְהוָה בַּעֲדַת קֹרַח כִּי בְחֶטְאוֹ מֵת וּבָנִים לֹא הָיוּ לוֹ.”
“Our father died in the wilderness; but he was not in the company of those who gathered together against YHVH, in company with Korah, but he died in his own sin, and he had no sons.”
“אָבִ֘ינוּ֮,” “Our Father,” here is the reason for ascension above, namely Zarqa (on top of the word ‘our father’), whose melody lengthens the word and pulls it.
How long is the sorrow in the recitation of “our Father.” There is no sorrow, and there is no pain of spirit and soul (Nefesh and Ruach), except when we call “our Father” from the pain rising from the heart.
He asks why it is mentioned “Died in the wilderness”, when many others died in the desert. Why this one is recorded with “He died in the desert”, after all, thousands and tens of thousands died in the desert.

Friday would be a good day to make a ** Donation, especially if you didn’t donate in the past week. Giving on Friday, which is an aspect of Yessod, expands the vessel for the Light and honor of Shabbat.
** Your donation doesn’t have to be given to the same place every week. You can alternate or split your donation among those who benefit you spiritually.
