And because of this Joshua wanted to protect Moses’s honor but Moshes didn’t care about it. So Joshua said;
Numbers 11:28
“וַיַּעַן יְהוֹשֻׁעַ בִּן נוּן מְשָׁרֵת מֹשֶׁה מִבְּחֻרָיו וַיֹּאמַר אֲדֹנִי מֹשֶׁה כְּלָאֵם.”
28 Joshua son of Nun, who had been Moses’ aide since youth, spoke up and said, “Moses, my lord, restrain them!”
What is “כלאם” “restrain them”? Joshua wanted to stop the prophecy of Eldad and Meidad from manifesting as it is written;
Exodus 36:6
“וַיְצַו מֹשֶׁה וַיַּעֲבִירוּ קוֹל בַּמַּחֲנֶה לֵאמֹר אִישׁ וְאִשָּׁה אַל יַעֲשׂוּ עוֹד מְלָאכָה לִתְרוּמַת הַקֹּדֶשׁ וַיִּכָּלֵא הָעָם מֵהָבִיא.”
“So Moses gave a commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, “Let neither man nor woman do any more work for the offering of the sanctuary.” And the people were restrained from bringing,”
Genesis 8:2
“וַיִּסָּכְרוּ מַעְיְנֹת תְּהוֹם וַאֲרֻבֹּת הַשָּׁמָיִם וַיִּכָּלֵא הַגֶּשֶׁם מִן הַשָּׁמָיִם.”
“The fountains of the deep and the windows of heaven were also stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained.”
We read that using the right words, Moses could have prevented the prophecy from happening.
Moshe didn’t want to do that because he was humbled. He said to Joshua;
Numbers 11:29
“וַיֹּאמֶר לוֹ מֹשֶׁה הַמְקַנֵּא אַתָּה לִי וּמִי יִתֵּן כָּל עַם יְהוָה נְבִיאִים כִּי יִתֵּן יְהוָה אֶת רוּחוֹ עֲלֵיהֶם.”
“Then Moses said to him, “Are you zealous for my sake? Oh, that all the LORD’s people were prophets and that the YHVH would put His Spirit upon them!””
Blessed is the lot of Moses, who surpassed all the superior prophets. Rabbi Yehuda said, all other prophets to Moses are like THE moon to the sun.

Rabbi Aba was sitting and studying Torah. And Rabbi Yossi and Rabbi Hezekiah were with him. Rabbi Yossi said how hard-hearted people are, who pay no attention to the things of that world. Rabbi Aba said, the evil in the heart, the grip in all the organs of the body does this to them. He opened and said, There is evil that I have seen under the sun and it is stronger over man. There is evil, that attacks, and wants to control everything in this world, and does not watch over the things of the world.
