186. וְיַעֲקֹב, בִּגְלַל שֶׁרָאָה בְּרוּחַ הַקֹּדֶשׁ דֹּחַק שֶׁל הַגָּלוּת הָאַחֲרוֹנָה בְּסוֹף הַיָּמִים, [אָמַר (בראשית כח) וַיִּפְגַּע בַּמָּקוֹם וַיָּלֶן שָׁם כִּי בָא הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ, וּבָא הַלַּיְלָה שֶׁל הַגָּלוּת, וְאָמַר] (שם לב) וַיִּירָא יַעֲקֹב מְאֹד וַיֵּצֶר לוֹ. וְחִלֵּק אֶת הָעָם הַקָּדוֹשׁ בַּגָּלוּת לִשְׁלֹשָׁה צְדָדִים, כְּמוֹ שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר (שם לג) וַיָּשֶׂם אֶת הַשְּׁפָחוֹת וְאֶת יַלְדֵיהֶן רִאשֹׁנָה, בָּרֹאשׁ בְּגָלוּת אֱדוֹם. וְאֶת לֵאָה וִילָדֶיהָ אַחֲרֹנִים וְאֶת רָחֵל וְאֶת יוֹסֵף אַחֲרֹנִים. וּבִגְלַל שֶׁרָאָה אַחַר כָּךְ עֲנִיּוּת וְצַעַר שֶׁלָּהֶם, אָמַר (שם כח) וְשַׁבְתִּי בְשָׁלוֹם אֶל בֵּית אָבִי. וְאָמַר, וְנָתַן לִי לֶחֶם לֶאֱכֹל וּבֶגֶד לִלְבֹּשׁ.
187. וְדָוִד, בִּגְלַל הַגָּלוּת אָמַר (שמואל-ב יז) רָעֵב וְעָיֵף וְצָמֵא בַּמִּדְבָּר. בִּגְלַל שֶׁרָאָה שְׁכִינָה חֲרֵבָה יְבֵשָׁה, הָיָה נוֹטֵל צַעַר בִּגְלָלָהּ. אַחַר שֶׁרָאָה שֶׁיִּשְׂרָאֵל חוֹזְרִים [בִּתְשׁוּבָה] בְּחֶדְוָה, תִּקֵּן עֲשָׂרָה מִינֵי נִגּוּנִים, וּבְסוֹף כֻּלָּם אָמַר (תהלים קב) תְּפִלָּה לְעָנִי כִי יַעֲטֹף [נ”א תִּקֵּן עֲשָׂרָה מִינֵי תִלִּים, וּבְסוֹף כֻּלָּם תְּפִלָּה לְדָוִד הַטֵּה ה’ אָזְנְךָ עֲנֵנִי. אַחַת שֶׁכָּל הַתְּפִלּוֹת שֶׁבִּגְלָלָן מִתְעַטְּפִים לִפְנֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ, וְלֹא הָיוּ נִכְנָסוֹת עַד שֶׁתִּכָּנֵס תְּפִלַּת הֶעָנִי, אָמַר תְּפִלָּה לְעָנִי כִי יַעֲטֹף], וְהִיא תְפִלָּה שֶׁעוֹטֶפֶת כָּל הַתְּפִלּוֹת לְפָנֶיהָ עַד שֶׁתִּכָּנֵס תְּפִלָּתוֹ, לָכֵן הִקְדִּים עָנִי לְכֻלָּם.

Genesis 28:11
“וַיִּפְגַּע בַּמָּקוֹם וַיָּלֶן שָׁם כִּי בָא הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ וַיִּקַּח מֵאַבְנֵי הַמָּקוֹם וַיָּשֶׂם מְרַאֲשֹׁתָיו וַיִּשְׁכַּב בַּמָּקוֹם הַהוּא.”
“So he came to a certain place and stayed there all night because the sun had set. And he took one of the stones of that place and put it at his head, and he lay down in that place to sleep.”
“He stayed there all night” is the aspect of the exile that is darkness. Jacob had the Holy Spirit, and he saw the pain of the last exile at the end of days and arranged his camps in three sides as it is written;
Genesis 32:8
“וַיִּירָא יַעֲקֹב מְאֹד וַיֵּצֶר לוֹ וַיַּחַץ אֶת הָעָם אֲשֶׁר אִתּוֹ וְאֶת הַצֹּאן וְאֶת הַבָּקָר וְהַגְּמַלִּים לִשְׁנֵי מַחֲנוֹת.”
“So Jacob was greatly afraid and distressed, and he divided the people that were with him, and the flocks and herds and camels, into two companies.”
Genesis 33:2
“וַיָּשֶׂם אֶת הַשְּׁפָחוֹת וְאֶת יַלְדֵיהֶן רִאשֹׁנָה וְאֶת לֵאָה וִילָדֶיהָ אַחֲרֹנִים וְאֶת רָחֵל וְאֶת יוֹסֵף אַחֲרֹנִים.”
“And he put the maidservants and their children in front, Leah and her children behind, and Rachel and Joseph last.”
He placed the maidservants and their children first as the head of the exile called Edom, where the Klipot held firmly. Then he put Leah and her children, and Rachel and Yosef were last. Because Jacob saw the poverty and sorrow they would experience, and he said Genesis 28:20, 21, 22
“וַיִּדַּר יַעֲקֹב נֶדֶר לֵאמֹר אִם יִהְיֶה אֱלֹהִים עִמָּדִי וּשְׁמָרַנִי בַּדֶּרֶךְ הַזֶּה אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי הוֹלֵךְ וְנָתַן לִי לֶחֶם לֶאֱכֹל וּבֶגֶד לִלְבֹּשׁ.”
“וְשַׁבְתִּי בְשָׁלוֹם אֶל בֵּית אָבִי וְהָיָה יְהוָה לִי לֵאלֹהִים.”
“Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If God will be with me, and keep me in this way that I am going, and give me bread to eat and clothing to put on,”
“so that I come back to my father’s house in peace, then YHVH shall be my God.”
Jacob prayed to have sustenance to support them against the Klipot during the time of exile and have merits to “come back to my father’s house in peace,” which is the aspect of the Final Redemption, and returning to the Holy Temple.

2 Samuel 17:29
“וּדְבַשׁ וְחֶמְאָה וְצֹאן וּשְׁפוֹת בָּקָר הִגִּישׁוּ לְדָוִד וְלָעָם אֲשֶׁר אִתּוֹ לֶאֱכוֹל כִּי אָמְרוּ הָעָם רָעֵב וְעָיֵף וְצָמֵא בַּמִּדְבָּר.”
“Honey and curds, sheep and cheese of the herd, for David and the people who were with him to eat. They said, “The people are hungry and weary and thirsty in the wilderness.”
King David saw the state of the Shechina in exile as “hungry and weary,” and it brought grief to him. He saw that the people do Teshuva, so he made ten types of Psalms, and the last one of them is Pslam 102, “תְּפִלָּה לְעָנִי כִי יַעֲטֹף” “A Prayer of the poor.”
He saw that the prayers would not enter the King until the prayer of the poor man entered, and it was a prayer that wrapped all the prayers in front of her until the prayer of the poor came in. Therefore, the prayer of the poor preceded other prayers.
