#323
Come and see: As long as Israel is distant from the palace of the King, so too, the Matronita (the Queen, i.e., Shechinah / Malchut) distances herself from the King, as it were. Why is this so? Because the Queen did not first raise the staff against the son to discipline him so that he would walk in the straight path. The King never strikes his son—instead, He leaves everything in the hands of the Queen to manage His palace, discipline His son, and guide him in the true path before the King.

Notes:
The Shekhinah’s closeness to the King depends on Israel’s spiritual state and her own willingness to guide and correct.
When Shekhinah does not discipline Israel, they stray, and the whole spiritual system becomes unbalanced. Hashem entrusts the management of judgment and guidance to the Shechinah, not because He is distant, but because the Shechinah in Malchut is the ‘interface’ of engagement with the world.
