Daily Zohar # 4863 – Acharei Mot – How to remove the mark

Zohar Acharei Mot
Continued from previous DZ
#352
Rabbi Abba said to him, “You have spoken well. From where did you learn this?”
He replied, “Thus, I have learned. And I have learned that this evil inheritance — the spirit of impurity — is inherited by all his children if they do not repent, for there is nothing that stands before repentance. And this I have also learned — that this remedy, namely teshuvah (repentance), was given to me once when I was marked in the face. One day, I was walking on the road and encountered a certain righteous man, and through him, that mark was removed from me. He asked me, ‘What is your name?’ I said, ‘Elazar.’ And he proclaimed over me another Elazar.” Rabbi Abba said to him, “Blessed is the Merciful One that I have seen you and merited to see you like this. Happy is your portion in this World and in the World to Come. I am the one who met you.”
Notes:
The Zohar teaches here that even a severe spiritual blemish can be healed through sincere repentance (teshuvah), which not only cleanses the soul but also alters its spiritual legacy. The story also reveals the deep connection between spiritual mentorship, divine mercy, and personal transformation — and affirms that no impurity is beyond rectification when met with true return and Divine grace.
