410. לָמַדְנוּ, כָּתוּב (במדבר כח) עֹלַת שַׁבַּת בְּשַׁבַּתּוֹ עַל עֹלַת הַתָּמִיד, שֶׁצָּרִיךְ לְכַוֵּן אֶת הַלֵּב לְמַעְלָה לְמַעְלָה יוֹתֵר מִבִּשְׁאָר הַיָּמִים. וְעַל זֶה עַל עֹלַת הַתָּמִיד דַּוְקָא. לָמַדְנוּ, כָּתוּב בְּחַנָּה (שמואל-א א) וַתִּתְפַּלֵּל חַנָּה עַל ה’, עַל דַּוְקָא, מִשּׁוּם שֶׁהַבָּנִים תְּלוּיִים בַּמַּזָּל הַקָּדוֹשׁ, כְּמוֹ שֶׁבֵּאַרְנוּ. וְאֵין לְךָ דָּבָר בַּתּוֹרָה אוֹ אוֹת קְטַנָּה בַּתוֹרָה שֶׁלֹּא רְמוּזָה בַּחָכְמָה הָעֶלְיוֹנָה, וּתְלוּיִים מִמֶּנָּה תִּלֵּי תִלִּים שֶׁל סוֹדוֹת הַחָכְמָה הָעֶלְיוֹנָה. זֶהוּ שֶׁכָּתוּב (שיר ה) קְוֻצּוֹתָיו תַּלְתַּלִּים, וַהֲרֵי נִתְבָּאֵר.

Likewise, it is with the renewal of the moon, meaning Rosh Chodesh — when the sun, which is Zeir Anpin (Z “A), shines upon her (the moon, which is Malchut) with the joyful light of Atika from above. Because of this, the offering of Rosh Chodesh is elevated above so that all may be sweetened and joy may be found in the world. And therefore it is said: “הָבִיאוּ עָלַי כַּפָּרָה” “Bring atonement for Me” — this matter is precise, in order to awaken the union.
Notes:
On Rosh Chodesh, when the moon (Malchut) is renewed, the sun (Zeir Anpin) shines upon her with the light of Keter (Atika), awakening spiritual joy and unity. To complete this divine union and sweeten the diminished state of Malchut, a sin-offering is brought “for Hashem” for reducing the size of the moon, as explained in the Midrash and Zohar. This offering enables the restoration of balance and the presence of joy in the world.

We have learned: It is written, “עֹלַת שַׁבַּת בְּשַׁבַּתּוֹ עַל עֹלַת הַתָּמִיד” “the burnt offering of the Sabbath on its Sabbath, in addition to the continual burnt offering” (Numbers 28:10). This teaches that a person must direct their heart upward, higher and higher, more than on other days. Therefore, the phrase “עַל עֹלַת הַתָּמִיד” “on the continual burnt offering” is precise, for “on” (עַל) means above the continual offering. We have learned, regarding Channah, it is written: “וַתִּתְפַּלֵּל חַנָּה עַל ה'” “And she prayed on Hashem” (1 Samuel 1:10). The word “on” is exact, implying above Hashem — that is, above Zeir Anpin (Z “A), for children depend on the holy Mazal, which is the beard of Arich Anpin, as we have established that there is nothing in the Torah, not even a single letter, that is not hinted in the supernal wisdom, and mounds upon mounds of secrets of supernal wisdom related to it. As it is written, “קְוֻצּוֹתָיו תַּלְתַּלִּים” “His locks are curled” (Song of Songs 5:11). And this we have already learned.
Notes:
The Torah’s language is precise, and even small words, such as “on” (על), contain profound spiritual significance. The Shabbat service requires a higher spiritual intention than weekday services, reaching beyond the regular offerings. Likewise, Channah’s prayer illustrates how one can reach above the revealed divine attributes (Z “A) to the supernal source of mercy (Arich Anpin) to draw blessings like children. Ultimately, every letter in the Torah holds infinite layers of divine wisdom, accessible only through deep contemplation and the teachings of the sages.
