411. רַבִּי יוֹסֵי מָצָא אֶת רַבִּי אַבָּא שֶׁהָיָה יוֹשֵׁב וְקוֹרֵא אֶת הַפָּסוּק שֶׁכָּתוּב, (תהלים נה) הַשְׁלֵךְ עַל ה’ יְהָבְךָ, עַל דַּוְקָא. שֶׁהֲרֵי מְזוֹנוֹת תְּלוּיִים בְּמַזָּל. רַבִּי יְהוּדָה הָיָה קוֹרֵא, (שם לב) עַל זֹאת יִתְפַּלֵּל כָּל חָסִיד אֵלֶיךָ לְעֵת מְצֹא. עַל זֹאת וַדַּאי. לְעֵת מְצֹא, הֲרֵי בֵּאַרְנוּ. אֲבָל לְעֵת מְצֹא, כְּמוֹ שֶׁכָּתוּב (ישעיה נה) דִּרְשׁוּ ה’ בְּהִמָּצְאוֹ קְרָאֻהוּ בִּהְיוֹתוֹ קָרוֹב. דָּבָר אַחֵר לְעֵת מְצֹא – בְּשָׁעָה שֶׁנְּהָרוֹת שׁוֹפְעִים וְנִמְשָׁכִים, וְהָאָבוֹת נֶהֱנִים, וְהַכֹּל מִתְבָּרְכִים. רַק לְשֵׁטֶף מַיִם רַבִּים, מִי זֶה הַשֵּׁטֶף מַיִם רַבִּים? זֶהוּ עֹמֶק הַנְּחָלִים וְהַנְּהָרוֹת, שֶׁמִּי יִזְכֶּה לוֹ וּמִי יִזְכֶּה לְהִתְקָרֵב וְלַעֲלוֹת לְשָׁם. זֶהוּ שֶׁכָּתוּב בּוֹ, (תהלים לה) רַק לְשֵׁטֶף מַיִם רַבִּים אֵלָיו לֹא יַגִּיעוּ, שֶׁהֲרֵי לֹא זוֹכִים וְלֹא יְכוֹלִים.

Rabbi Yosi found Rabbi Abba sitting and reading this verse: “הַשְׁלֵךְ עַל ה’ יְהָבְךָ” “Cast your burden upon Hashem” (Psalms 55:23). The word “upon” (עַל) is precise, meaning above Hashem — that is, above Zeir Anpin (Z “A), because sustenance depends on Mazal, which is the beard (dikna) of Arich Anpin. Rabbi Yehuda was reading: “עַל זֹאת יִתְפַּלֵּל כָּל חָסִיד אֵלֶיךָ לְעֵת מְצֹא” “For this, let every pious one pray to You at a time of finding” (Psalms 32:6). “For this” — indeed — that is, above the Shechinah, called “זֹאת” Zot (this), referring to Tiferet (Z “A) which is above Malchut. “At a time of finding (לְעֵת מְצֹא)” — we have already established that this refers to a woman, but ‘time of finding’ is as it is written: “דִּרְשׁוּ ה’ בְּהִמָּצְאוֹ קְרָאֻהוּ בִּהְיוֹתוֹ קָרוֹב” “Seek Hashem when He is found; call Him when He is near” (Isaiah 55:6), referring to the Ten Days of Repentance (עשרת ימי תשובה).
Another explanation (Hasulam): “Time of finding” refers to the time when the rivers, the lights of Binah — flow and extend, and the Forefathers, that is, Chessed, Gevurah, and Tiferet, receive them, and all are blessed — and this is what every pious one should pray for. “Surely, a flood of great waters” — what is this flood of great waters? It refers to the depth of the springs and rivers, which is Atika Kadisha, from which the lights and springs flow to Binah. Who can merit it? Who can approach and ascend there? That is what is written: “Surely, a flood of mighty waters shall not reach him” — for they do not merit and cannot receive from Atika.

Notes:
True spiritual influence — sustenance, forgiveness, blessing — comes not only through the lower levels (such as Zeir Anpin and Malchut) but also through the supernal roots in Arich Anpin and Atika Kadisha. These levels are generally hidden and inaccessible, but during special times, such as the Ten Days of Repentance, and through deep prayer and merit, one can draw from these exalted sources. 
Every word in Scripture, such as “upon” (עַל), holds profound kabbalistic meaning, guiding seekers toward a higher, holy spiritual union and understanding.
